Maybe I am missing something- but did anyone else find that the Greek myth ending- that doubt alone will doom a relationship- is a bit overwrought. We all have doubts about our relationships- and work them out- or do not work them out. Just because you have a doubt- does that mean you will be doomed to a life without that relationship? Or am I missing something?
I think the theme is that despite doubt (or whatever) getting in the way, we cant stop trying to get past it.
This time the story may have ended in tragedy, but we continue to tell the tale. Who knows if next time it may get a happy ending?
We continue to perform WEST SIDE STORY, and ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, and all the other love stories that end in tragedy. Why? In the firm belief that if we try hard enough, next time they may get a happier ending.
