On Good Morning America today, Reeve Carney announced that Hadestown will begin a national tour in fall of 2020! Any theaters you think the show could visit, casting for the tour, etc?

Am I crazy for thinking Norm Lewis would be great in this? Or do we think he wouldn't want to go on tour?

One thing is for certain, the tour might have all the same magic as the Broadway production, but that Bass of Patrick Page, that might be the one thing that can’t be replicated.
Haven't seen this one yet nor have I listened to much of it. How complicated will the set be to tour? Or is this a must see on broadway?

IMO the hardest part to replicate will be the lift that's used for characters descending/arriving into Hadestown. It's a stunning effect that's used to great impact in the show. That being said, I'd be interested in what else Rachel Chauvkin and co. could come up with.
The Ahmanson in Los Angeles has just announced this will be in their 20/21 season. Seems sort of early/eager to announce so soon...
Its the curremt Tony winner...they want to create buzz.
Im sure it will go the usual tier one cities.

The Ahmanson has a terrible 2019/20 season, so they need to create some buzz.

And here's the mashup ''Hadestown'' did today on ''GMA'' ...

Hoping this makes its way to Boston on its first run. Boston used to be a tier 1 city but its not as much anymore. More of a hit or miss when it comes to big shows touring in their first year.

I absolutely LOVE Hadestown and it was by far my favorite musical since CFA.
I am very skeptical of how it will your given the stage mechanics and lighting. The Broadway lighting for this was imo the best I’ve ever seen.

Tempe was listed as one of the cities in year 1 as well! So excited to see it at ASU Gammage. I’m also interested to see what they end up doing about the lift

We just saw Hadestown a few weeks ago. I think this set and technical qualities will transfer nicely to a tour. But finding a touring company that does justice to the magic of the original cast? Now that’s another thing. We’ll come see it in Boston.

I feel like this is a Fun Home situation where it’s changed every time depending on the venue.
