Deadline: Early Days Of 'SNL' To Be Portrayed In New Off Broadway Play

As a proud member of Quaid Army, I find myself mostly in agreement with Seth Myers's catchphrase "An Golden Era:" the show leans far too hard on the mythology of the first five years, when thoseweren&

Are attitudes towards bootleg recordings changing?
 Aug 7 2025, 10:02:54 AM

As someone on the younger side who has only seen this through the lens of pre-COVID into the shutdown and the years afterward, I feel like there's actually been a recent growth of an anti-bootleg sentiment among people who five years ago would have been all for the extra access.  Part of this is from a smart reframing of bootlegs by actors recently, including Casey Likes and Alina Mayagoitia, as a consent issue rather than an access issue - which is personal for both of these perform

Wishful Thinking - HUNCHBACK?
 Jul 26 2025, 12:41:15 AM

I just saw a BEAUTIFUL production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in Orlando and got to thinking about Disney on Broadway's current output.  The shows they seem to be focusing the most on are the Beauty and the Beast tour (which has not gotten great word of mouth) and Hercules (which has now had four major productions and is still getting mixed reviews, especially on its pacing).  This is very much just wishful thinking and not any inside scoop, but with other in-development work

I also noticed this!  It was in the context of M*sk going on CBS Sunday Morning for his exit interview from the

Ok this made me curious about which shows got to perform after not being nominated for Best Musical or Revival, so I went back over the past 10 years to take a

If she is the only one, it makes it feel icky and unfair, but again, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Sometimes there are great performances in subpar shows. It's not deeper than that.

IIRC, Joe Iconis said that when Be More Chill was on Broadway, the team approached the Tonys for a performance and got turned down.  It would've been "Michael in the Bathroom" - one actor on stage and the most popular song in the show - and then he was upset when the number ended up getting turned into a parody sung by

Wayne Brady & Taye Diggs to join MOULIN ROUGE in July?

My guess is the announcement's scheduled for a different day and got posted early?  This is GREAT casting - I'm curious as to how much of a pull Wayne Brady's going to have, as I don't remember him being a big impact on sales for The Wiz (although they didn't use him a ton in the marketing I saw), but I love seeing seasoned theatre performers who have crossed over to film/TV return to Broadway!  Stunt casting without the "stunt" of it all...An

Does anyone have any dream pairings of actor/role that people wouldn't expect?  Like, a "just crazy enough to work" type scenario?

I was watching the trailer for Lee yesterday and suddenly could not stop thinking of the idea of Andy Samberg doing Parade one day.  He's interested in playing more dramatic roles, he has a huge vocal range that could be fine-tuned with some coaching, and although he's definitely older th
