Hadestown plot question?

I just saw Hadestown (one of the best and most beautiful shows Ive ever seen.) and Im a little confused on one thing. At the beginning of the show Eurydice (Eva Noblezada) said she doesnt remember a time that wasnt winter. But then we learn that Persephone (Amber Grey) comes out from the underworld every 6 months. If thats the case why did they make it seem that spring hasnt happened for ? Did I miss something?

It snowed heavily in April this year in Wisconsin. I had started to believe Sun was an urban myth. Persephone was also attributed the designation of being "never early, always late" and as someone who "forgot about the little thing called spring".

That's how I took that line. Eurydice is just low on vitamin D.

The hard times take longer to experience.....plus....even when it is spring, things are not good for her, so her perception, her outlook are of struggling which equals winter.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

So it was more of a metaphor for her situation than to be taken literally?

I think so. She cant remember not being cold or hungry or unhappy.

She notes that she can't remember spring or fall - just harsh shifts from freezing winter to boiling summer.
