I'm thrilled to hear that Hair is extending two weeks, because now I can see it! I was sad I wasn't going to be able to because I'm moving to NYC at the end of August but now I'll be able to catch it.
I'm just confused as to how to get tickets to it? I don't want to miss it. Anyone know how this works?

It depends on the show and how early in the run you go. For the more popular Shakespeare plays, you're going to to have a long wait. Last year, towards the end of the run of "Romeo and Juliet" you literally had to get there in the middle of the night to ensure you'd get a ticket.
If you go during previews your odds are better. Last weekend I saw Hamlet and only waited in line for 30 mins for my tickets, and this was on a Saturday. But each day a show runs it gets more difficult.
The cancellation line is often a good way to go...many times seats open up before the performance and if you get there a couple hours before the show you've got a good shot, depending again on popularity and how deep into the run it is.
"Hair" is going to be very popular...I think the lines are going to be long and would recommend getting there as early as you can.
Don't sweat it. It sounds more like a pain in the ass than it is. It's a New York tradition and you get to know the people around you in the line.

Are they gonna get naked in Central Park?
That would be really weird since in most cases if a show has nudity, they at least have the theatre walls to protect from gawkers and picture takers.

Posted: 6/19/08 at 2:44amI can not wait to see this. I hope my summer scheduling works out. I'll either leave after it starts, or get back in time to see it.
