Does the show get cancelled if there is rain during the show?
it depends. It rained when I saw it and they stopped the show because of lightening and the danger the cordless mics presented to the actors. They waited to see if it would give up. For awhile it looked like it was going to and they started reseting the stage. The the heavens totally opened up so the show was called.
They will stop the show and wait to see if it lets up. If it does they will resume, if not, then lights out.

They can only hold for a certain amount of time before they have to call off the show. If I remember correctly from an article from either last summer or the summer before the stage manager said the show has to come down by midnight, as their agreement with Central Park says that all audience members will be out of the park by 1:00.

alright, lets hope its not raining on the 17th. Is there a refund policy or what?
Most tix are free....so what refund. If you made a donation for you tix...they will TRY to give you tix for another performance. But if you get free tix you don't get more tix. You'd have to wait in line again.

I meant new tickets. not a money refund. My bad
and it looks like its going to RAIN on Saturday-my scheduled reserved seats!
Is there a refund policy or what?
There is no such thing as REFUND. This show is FREE! if you got your ticket by falling in line- I guess you just have to fall in line again some other day, if they cancelled the show.
For those summer supporters (donations)- you can re-schedule your reserved seats.

No.
As you didn't pay anything for them, there is nothing to refund.
If you become a Summer Supporter of the Public Theatre, essentially purchasing a ticket, the policy may be different, but I'm not sure.

once again sorry for confusing refund and reschedule.

I am a summer supporter (by donating $160.00) There is no really such thing as TICKET too~its callled reserved seating..The reserved seat they gave you is NOT a ticket, its a token of their appreciation for donating $$ for the show to run and offer it to the Public..hence the name Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park. if it rains~they will re-schedule it for you.
Corporations gave big donations too, as a token of their appreciation they will giev tickets to the company (for their employees or whatever)
Donations are tax-deductable!
Bottom line- They alloted more tickets to the Public and its FREE!

As several people have told you: if you have free tix (whether thru the line or the virtual line) you do NOT get replacement tix....you have to secure them again.
If you DONATED for your tix they will try to reshedule you!

If it's light rain, though, they will continue the show in the rain. They only stop it if it becomes dangerous.
Jay the night forecast looks clear. It seems, of as of now, the rain is going to be Friday night into Saturday. Then again, when is the weather that accurate this far in advance?
Hell weather forecasts aren't accurate day of!
