I say bring in Lindsay Hohan as Penny, Hilary Duff as Amber, and Tom Cruise as Edna.

Ha, what a creative title...had me laughing. I think this show might slowly drift away. I mean, its had its time. I think its going to be overshadowed by the other "big shows" opening.

Folks, it dropped below break even for the first time ever this week. ONCE in four years. And if you notice nearly every other show also had a precipitous drop as well. It's the week after Labor Day and you can't use that as a barometer as to whether it's going to "drift away" or something. It'll quite likely be back in the 70s next week and into the 80s by next month. No reason to sound the death knell for the show over one bad week.

the new wilbur and edna are fantastic. Mainly i noticed they seemed to be having a lot of fun on stage, which is always obvious to audiences and it was fun watching them. Shannon as Tracy, and Tracy Miller as Penny are definitely two to catch! not to mention Darlene Love (WHAT a beautiful voice!) as Motormouth and Chestor as Seaweed are equally fantastic.
bottom line: you should def check out the new cast. maybe help some of those lull september ticket sales!

I'm sure everything will be fine! Frequent production meetings ar held involving most of the directors, producers, etc... At these meetings, the entire show is approached in an almost scientific manor. If ticket sales are dropping, they will find out why, and fix it. The show has gone through many detail changes since the begining (costuming, sets, casting...) and the production team has always kept it afloat. Many people have a lot of money riding on the success of this show, They surely won't let it fail. YOU CAN'T STOP THE BEAT!!!

Goodman's a frustrated singer. He'd totally do it.

Who has a lot riding on it? Hasn't it made back its investment?

I'm not sounding alarm bells, nor do I think the show is going anywhere for a long time. I simply had a great title for a thread and needed sometime to post.
Hairspray will do well for another 3 years. One rough week (across the board) will not signal the end of the show.

T. is right....everything was down, save Spam and Wicked.
Its a great show, and i has proved its resiliency time and time again. I saw it with the original cast and loved it.
Great title for a thread by the way!

I hope Margo doesn't panic and cut more costumes.

I'm going to post this here because I didn't want to start a new thread but I guess you can tell summer is over because the number of reviews have gone down so much when compared to the number like 2 weeks ago.
