Had great luck in the Hamilton cancellation line last Wednesday (May 17th) for the 2:00pm show!

I arrived just after 12:00pm. There were only a few people in line and they were being called in to get tickets right then (likely because the lottery winner payment deadline had just passed). I definitely saw 3 people come out with tickets, but I believe more got tickets before I arrived. They stopped calling people in around 12:10pm; I was third in line behind two people who had also just arrived. The theater workers told us there would likely be more tickets so we should stick around.

They moved the cancellation line back to the stage door, which was pretty cool since the whole cast walked right by us! Then nothing else happened until 1:50pm--10 minutes before showtime. They told us they had 6 tickets available, and they walked us into the box office to buy our tickets.

One of the women who'd purchased a single cancellation ticket around noon had been given a seat in row J, so I assumed anything released later would be further back. Imagine my shock when all six seats were in the second row center (off the right aisle)! I nearly fell over. They must have been unclaimed lottery seats, but they weren't released right after the 12pm lottery payment deadline for some reason (anyone have any thoughts on why that would happen?). Each ticket was $229. Not sure if they released any standing room since we had to go straight into the theater after purchasing.

Hopefully this info is helpful for people who want to see the show but don't line up because they can't get there at 4:00am. I've been checking out this board for ages and I figured the best I could hope for by lining up so late was standing room, MAYBE, if I was incredibly lucky. I was gobsmacked to get second row seats lining up less than two hours before showtime. Not sure if last Wednesday was an anomaly for some reason (it was a super hot day, so maybe people weren't willing to stand outside?) or if there's a bit of a lull in demand before summer vacations hit, but I hope someone gives it a try this week and lets us all know how it goes! Excited to share my experience with the Hamilton cancellation line!

A friend and I arrived at the theatre around 6:30 am on Saturday, May 20th in hopes of getting tickets for the 2:00 show. We were about 17th and 18th in line at this point. The first three people in line were professional line sitters who arrived around 3:30 am. A girl joined the line behind us around 7:00 am, and a few more around 8:30 am. Only 8 tickets total ended up being sold for the matinee showing. The first two people in front of the line (2 tickets each) were called in to purchase tickets around 12:30 pm. Another pair of tickets was sold around 1:40 pm, and two standing room seats were offered around 1:50 pm. The rest of us were out of luck for tickets to the matinee performance.

Disappointed, we decided to remain in line in hopes of getting tickets for the 8:00 show. At this point, we were 9th and 10th in line. At 2:15 pm, a lady approached the line in front of the theatre with two tickets for the 2:00 show that she was willing to sell for $100 each. Most people in line turned them down because we didn't want to miss any of the show, but two ladies in front of us bought them, moving us up to 7th and 8th in the cancellation line. I asked a box office worker when they would start offering tickets to the 8:00 show, and was told 5:00 at the earliest. We got comfortable in line again and were pleasantly surprised when around 3:00 they began preparing to offer us tickets. The people in front of us were immediately called in the box office to purchase unclaimed lottery tickets and my friend and I were brought in at 3:15 to purchase second row seats for $230 each. I am unsure how many people behind us were also offered tickets as we immediately left to enjoy our afternoon in the city before coming back to the theatre for the show.

Nine hours spent waiting in line was definitely worth the second row Hamilton experience! We made great friends in line and time flew by. Best of luck to anyone trying the cancellation line soon!

I'm curious how getting 2 tickets works. If I wait by myself but have a friend who wants to come, how much notice will I have to let them know when to get there? If I've read the rules correctly we can't switch places in line. Do we both need to be in line?

I am currently trying to score standing room tickets for this Thursday's (6/2) performance with my sister! Does anyone know if they've been giving out standing room tickets lately? I really appreciate any help/ advice!

It's hard to predict how many SRO tickets there will be, if any, since it depends on how many cast requests they get. You can ask, nicely, at the box office and they might know, but they might not. I would get in line in the early AM and see what you can find out when the box office opens. If you want tickets, 1 or both of you will have to be in line all day, they don't sell it until just before curtain.

Does anyone know the current price of tickets for the cancellation line? It used to be $199 for front row, like 550 for premium seats, and something like $40 for SRO. Has this changed at all?

" As of last Saturday, June 3: the premium seats are first offered at $749 then later in the waiting period/closer to show time they will drop them to $229. Unclaimed lottery seats are $229. Side orchestra/partial view are $199. Standing Room is $40

Hey all- I did the line yesterday (Weds 6/14) for the evening performance. I didn't plan on waiting for tickets- I walked by the theater at 3:30pm and was expecting a huge line and was planning to keep walking. Surprisingly, there was nobody there! I asked the guy out front and he said I would be the first but they had 1 ticket they were ready to sell me for $229. I wasn't looking to spend that since I wanted standing room & had time to waste. The few people running the line told me that there's no guarantee for standing room and if they have any, they won't be sold until minutes before showtime.

Nobody else showed up until 4:30ish and by 5:00 the line was a few people deep. Around 4:45 they came out with 3 tickets. They moved the line to the staircase around 5:15 and then to the stage door at 6:00. Nothing happened until 7:40 when they released 2 tickets at a time. I wanna say at least 10 people got in between 7:40 and 8:00.

Finally at 8:00 they called me forward for standing room. They only had 2 spots available for the performance. I gladly gave them my credit card and ran to my spot upstairs!

Overall fantastic view and totally worth the $40 if you've seen the show before. You aren't able to see anything happening on the second level of the stage but for $40 and getting tickets seconds before curtain it was a great night!

Her ultimate dream (and mine!) would be to get to see Hamilton while we are there. We plan to enter the lottery every day we are there. Is it still 10,000 people a day entering it? Or have the numbers decreased since the original cast left? Our flight gets in Thursday at 10am and we are going to drop our stuff off and head straight to the theater to try the cancellation line. If we got there at 11 or 12 would that be too late to get a decent spot in line? I was reading in the past posts that on 1 show days the line starts forming later and even saw some people got tickets that got in line mid afternoon? If tomorrow doesn't happen then we will probably try again one more time while we are there. I read all the past posts and will utilize all the tips I saw....if anyone has anything additional to offer, feel free to reply!! Wish us luck!!

UPDATE -

I wanted to post what our experience was with the cancellation line since reading all the previous posts was so extremely helpful to us....maybe we can be helpful to someone else!

Our flight got in around 11 on Thursday June 8th, and it ended up being about 1:15 by the time we arrived at Richard Rodgers after dropping our luggage off and getting a cab to Times Square. I was skeptical that it was going to work out for us, but we held onto hope with nothing to lose. We were about 12th in line at that point of people standing there...I didn't know how many tickets each wanted. Then after the lottery results got announced at 2pm, two girls left as it was their last day to see NYC and they didn't want to waste it in the cancellation line. Then, an hour or so later, another couple girls in line left as they didn't realize the tickets were going to be $229 if they got in. A couple people got called over to get tickets around 6. Shortly after that, the guy at the front of the line (who had been sitting there since 10:30am), left because his companion wasn't going to be able to go with him and he didn't want to see it alone! This put us 4th in line at 6:15. The police officer came over and introduced himself and was very nice. Explained how it would play out and asked us if we had any questions. He explained that shortly they would move the line over to the stage door and that we should expect to be there until very close to the 7pm start time. The next three got called to the box office around 6:30 putting us first in line. Finally, around 6:50 they called us to the box office!!! We got seats in center orchestra row F on the right aisle (facing stage). It was absolutely incredible and we are so thankful we did it!

As everyone in previous posts said, it was great to meet everyone in line and get to know them and then we all waved to each other inside the theater when we got our seats. There is a pizza place across the street and coffee/bathrooms close by as well. It didn't at all feel like we were in line for almost 6 hours, the time flew! I would definitely do it again!

This is my first time here, so not sure that I am posting in the right place.

Does anyone know what the situation is about kids in the line? My 11 year old will wait with me, and we want to know if we can buy three tickets because she is "in line" or if we can only buy tickets for ourselves. We would love to invite one of her bests to join us, but not sure if they allow kids to buy tickets! This would impact how early we go!

I'm willing to wait in line for anyone willing to pay for my ticket on June 29th, July 2, or July 3. PM me if you're interested.

If anyone has any updates on what the line is like now, please share! Haven't been to the city in 5 years and trying to make a plan! Would love SRO but don't know if I can convince my husband to pay for regular price lol.
