Hamilton in June?

I'm in the early stages of planning a trip back to NYC in late June (probably around June 20th).

I really want to see "Hamilton", and it looks like sales have already started for that time period, but many (if not all) of the "standard" price tickets are already sold out for that week, with only the $277 preferred and $477 premium tickets on sale.

I haven't been following along too closely in the Hamilton threads, but does anyone know if they have been releasing any more standard price tickets as they got closer to the performance dates, or should I just bite the bullet and lock in my tickets now?

I don't want to do the lotto, as I pretty much plan a lot of our trips down to the last detail and pack a busy schedule of sightseeing, museum going, and theatre (our last trip we did 12 shows in 6 days!), and I don't have time to wait in the lottery with no guaranteed chance of seeing the show. I do also realize that this is going to be after the (inevitable) Tony Award wins, so the lottery (and probably ticket prices) will probably only get crazier.

If I were you, judging from the way things are going, I would bite the bullet and grab some of the $277 seats as soon as your dates are firm. Those seats are actually quite good, and $200 cheaper than premium.

Another alternative would be to get someone to go to the box office for you to buy box seats. They are regular price ($177) but they are partial view. I went two weeks ago and bought two box seats for February. So they would probably be available for June. But you can't buy them online or over the phone. If you have friends in NYC that would be a good option.

Unless you stand in the cancellation line which you won't, there will be no standard price tickets released online, so just grab the $277 ticket now.

Bite the bullet. If more tickets are released later, they will not be standard price.

I'm confused about the "new batch of tickets" that are being released tomorrow morning. Playbill says tickets are only on sale now through June 2016 and that the new batch goes through October 2016, but I spot checked dates in July and August on Ticketmaster and tickets are already on sale. Does anybody know what range of dates actually goes on sale tomorrow so I know when to look? Thanks in advance! Edit: Did some additional digging and the first date of new ticket sales is September 6. I hope this clarifies the question for anyone else who was having the same confusion I was!

This is a smaller batch being released this time, and it doesn't seem to be an Amex presale, as the other two past releases have been. I even applied for an Amex just to get ready!

these ticket prices are so crazy. Looks like i'll have to wait longer than I thought to see the show...wanted to go around May or June but won't be able to afford the $477 premium prices. Might be able to get some nosebleeds tomorrow for late next year before all the scalpers get to them.

Box seats might be a good option for you, and it would enable you to see the show with the original cast.

So does everyone think the row M or N $277 seats would be good enough? I think we were sitting fairly up close when my sister and I saw "If/Then", but we wee in a rush and I don't remember how the view was from row M. (If I was going alone, I probably would really splurge on the premium seats, but since I'm going with my sister, we both can't afford two seats unless we don't do anything else while in the city)

Those are great seats. I sat in Row P on the side, and I felt surprisingly close to the stage. Plus, that's the stadium seating section, so you can see clearly over the head of the person in front of you.

I can't remember where I read it, but I thought that this small batch going on sale tomorrow will be for shows through October 31, 2016. I could be wrong, but I thought that was what I read here on BWW.

It would be ... partial view. You probably wouldn't miss much, since nothing really happens at the sides of the stage. But I think that's too much to pay for partial view. I sat in row G, third seat from the right, which was fine, but I would not want to sit any further to the side than that, certainly not for that price (which is more than what I paid for my non-partial view seat).

I sat in Row G on the far left aisle last week. I couldn't see people when they were on the stairway on the left side of the stage. It was only a couple of times that I couldn't see someone doing/singing something significant. There were also times when the character who was the focus of the scene was blocked by dancers, but everyone is moving around a lot so those moments were brief. Personally, it was well worth it to be that close to the stage and able to see Leslie Odom's subtle performance and the tears on Philippa Soo's face at the end. The only other way I'll ever be that close again is if I win the lotto because I can't afford premium seats. On the other hand, the far side seats don't offer a good view of the staging, lighting, and choreography, which you can see very well from rear orchestra. I suspect the best non-premium seats are front mezz, but I haven't sat there (yet).
