Thanks for any replies, I've got a seating question about Hamilton in NYC.

My parents, brother and I will be travelling to New York in May and we will be seeing Hamilton. We have the option to sit either in Orchestra Centre Row O seat 101-104 or Orchestra Right Row E and F seat 10 and 12. Which would be better - closer to the action but off-centre or further back, but more central?

My parents have never seen the show before, but my brother and I were lucky to catch it in Los Angeles when we saw it from the very back of centre orchestra (it's a large theatre in LA, so we were pretty far back). My family lives in Australia, so this will likely be the only time they see the show.

Would be great to hear people's thoughts!

I would select seats 101 etc as that is on the aisle. Being on the aisle is always better than being crammed into the middle part a row.

Both great options. I'd normally advise always taking the aisle seats, but between those two options, I'd go for the Row E seats. I've sat all over the orchestra for the show, and while Row O is perfectly fine (if slightly far), the Row E seats aren't too far that you'll feel off-center (seats 15 and 16 onward in those rows are when I find you start to feel too off to the side).

Here's a pic of the theatre. As you can see, the orchestra seating from row L to the back is tiered.

Those tiered seats are phenomenal. You feel as if the show is being performed for you alone. There’s no interference from audience members in the rows in front. I’m firmly in the row O camp. Regardless, I’m sure you would be happy with either choice.

Thanks for the replies everyone! We're all fairly small, so it's usually not an issue if we are not near the aisle in terms of space. Hmmm will have to think about it, although I think leaning towards the closer seats that are off-center... decisions, decisions

When I saw Hamilton, my group was in the same exact seats you mentioned (E 10-12 and F 10-12)! They are incredible seats, I'd highly recommend them. Saw everything, was not obstructed by any person or set piece and definitely not too far off to the side. I would go for E and F in a heartbeat again imo (although I haven't been further back, I really enjoyed everything up close as a personal preference. Like others have said, it's pretty tiered, so it comes down to whether you like a sweeping central view further back or really feel like you're in the action up close).

Thanks for your reply - great to hear from someone who's been in those exact seats! Good to hear there was no obstructed view. I definitely am a fan of being up close, so I think we'll go with those seats.
