It would have been kind of cool if they could have done the new SoM on her birthday.

What a beautiful picture! She will always be Peter Pan to me, but she is also Maria because my mom played the original Broadway cast album of SoM in our house. So glad the NBC live version is Mary's. It's a slightly more mature version IMO, and hope they include "How can Love Survive".

i worked on Mary's last show LEGENDS, a joy to watch from the wings. I was very lucky to have had several solo dinners with her during the long 1 year run of this pre broadway show...
I was there for the "Boston" incident,
I got to watch Mary take her last bow...
after the show closed i kept seeing Mary a few times a year. the last time was a few months before her death.
i love the signed peter pan photo from Mary that hangs in my hallway.

I recently listened to a radio tribute to celebrate the 100th birthday--I just had no idea of the versitility/warmth and 'character' in her voice.I can now appreciate how Sound of Music sounds in a different key-I love Julie Andrews but Miss Martin brings a youthful charming natural feel to all the songs.
