Exciting milestone. Good for them. It's always nice to see a quality show last. I saw it when it first opened, and had a great time.
Would be interested to see how many of the original cast members are still there. And if not, how they found people to replace them. It seemed like such a specific skill to play those roles.
Congrats to Ave Q.

Just came back from Q's 1501st performance tonight.
After the show Christian Anderson announced that they were celebrating the 1500th (or, technically 1501st) performance on Broadway. With Jeff Marx joining the current cast onstage, they brought out a cake and sang a special version of Happy Birthday. (Happy 1500 to Q!) Jennifer Barnhart, with Lucy the Slut, blew the candles, and lots and lots of orange balloons covered the stage!
Christian said that they invited all the former casts from Broadway and Las Vegas productions, but the only ones I spotted were Rick Lyon and Robert McClure -- maybe there were more of them around? He also told us to come back to their 3000th performance in another three and a half years or so! Long live Avenue Q!!
P.S. As the audience walked out the theatre, each of us got a "Q" cupcake :)
