Happy Opening Night Finian's Rainbow

I really hope this show will find an audience. It is a lovely show beautifully staged and perfectly casted. I hade the privelege to attend the second to last preview performance (Wedenesday Matinee) and I was not dissapointed. Cheyennne Jackson was a great lead, but it was Kate Baldwin the true standout for me. She makes you fall in love with her from early in the first Act. Her voice is truly gorgeous, I am surprised I've never heard of her before. Her "How are things in gloca mora" is truly magical. Another standout is Christopher Fitzgerald as the lovable Og, he delievers a tony-nominated worthy performace. He craked the house up several times, and his solo "When I am not near the girl I love" brought the house down. I recommend this show to anyone who wants to be trasnported to a simpler time and have a magical night. This show may not be for everyone, especially young people might find it boring, but I am only 24 years and I loved every minute of it. Break a leg tonight.

BTW, Aaron Tveit was in attendance at this performance. I saw him at intermission when I was using the restroom.

May the wonderful cast have the brightest of rainbows overhead during opening and lots of pots of gold sprinkled in tomorrow's reviews!!
