Wicked - For Good
Rent - I cried hysterically at both Jeremy Kushnier/Krystal Washington's last show as they were both crying and at MRF's last.
Tyler Maynards last from "Epiphany" on.

anything Sutton sang in Little Women...it was the emotion of seeing/hearing my IDOL singing 10 feet away from me...
and sadly I'm not joking! lol..I was balling the whooooole time!

Oh, I've just recently discovered the L5Y recording. I am so in love with it, it's not even funny. But when I heard Nobody Needs to Know for the first time, I totally started to sniffle and tear up. I'd kill to see this on stage!

I have to also say the finale of Miss Saigon. Also when Hugh sang "Once Before I Go" just before the finale of Boy from Oz. And TWO times on Billy Elliot The Musical. When Billy reads his mother's letter and she appears on stage and at the end !

I think the reason why so many of us cry during the Rent trailer is because these are (mostly) the people we've been listening to on the CD for years and to see them finally back where they belong is so heart rendering. :)

I bawled during For Good, but for a very personal reason. My friend had just died in a car crash and the day after the funeral, some friends had sang For Good at a Thespian dinner as a goodbye to the seniors, but it took on a new meaning. When i saw the show a month later, i couldnt hold it in, and i didnt want to. I had just lost my best friend and the song made me realize how much she touched my life.

Besides all of the aformentioned Caroline or change moments, I would like to add I Hate the Bus.
Also, the I Love You Song the third time I saw Spelling bee, when she repeats the definition of chimerical, forget it.

I've been so caught up in the sappy sentimentality of SHENANDOAH that I've bawled like a baby in the last scene--when the little boy hobbles into church on crutches while a hymn is being sung. Man, am I a sucker for that kind of sap!
On the other hand, I cry tears of sheer bliss (actually it's more like an explosion!) whenever Carol Channing appears at the top of the stairs at the Harmonia Gardens in HELLO, DOLLY! To me it's one of the most stunning and emotional moments in musical theater. Sheer magic. Sheer joy.

The prelude to "Children Will Listen" (Into the Woods), when the Baker's Wife instructs the Baker: "Tell him what you know", and he responds with "Once upon a time, in a far off kingdom, there lived...a childless baker and his wife."
Also "Move On" (Sunday in the Park)--while I was recovering from a particularly painful break-up.
Other good cries not during songs: the final moments in Bent, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Sam Mendes's Cabaret.

The final moments of "Les Miserables:"
"Do you hear the people sing
lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
who are climbing to the light.
For the wretched of the earth
there is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end
and the sun will rise..."
So beautiful.
I also cry through most of "Rent," starting with the title song. I cry because it's so good, so amazingly powerful. And of course I sob all through Angel's death and "Without You" all the way to the end. What a powerful show.
"Eva's Last Broadcast" from "Evita" also does it for me, when she says, "It may get harder, for you to see me."

I almost cried when my friend sang a song the other day at theatre camp from "Tick, Tick, Boom" because he has an amazing voice and sang the song beautifully. I forget what it was called though. Also, Forever Yours from "OOTI" made me cry because it's so sad and Some Things Are Meant to Be from "Little Women" because it's the part where Beth dies and she and Jo sing the duet.

"If you're a writer or a painter, you write or paint whenever you want to. But we have to do this task at a precise moment. At three minutes past eight, the curtain goes up, and you've got to pretend to believe, because no one else will believe you unless you believe it yourself. A great deal of our work is simply making ourselves dream. That is the task. At three minutes past eight,YOU MUST DREAM."

i agree with you totally, Meagz. the last five years is another one of my favorites, and i cannot go through listening to the recording without crying. especially in the last song, where cathy's at the beginning singing "goodbye till tomorrow" and jamie's at the end singing "i could never rescue you."

the most ive ever cried during a show was the normal heart but i know that wasnt the question....during a song would have to be No Voice from Bare:
Dear Jason, how did a simple love get complicated?
Days crawl by, I ask myself again
Should I have waited?
In a world that's quick to judge
I will try to understand
It's so hard to find your way
When you have no voice to guide you

Days crawl by, I ask myself again
Should I have waited?
In a world that's quick to judge
I will try to understand
It's so hard to find your way
When you have no voice to guide you
...and still you hold on, to every old song... - Adam Pascal

For the most recent shows, I would say:
"Love to Me"- Light in the Piazza
"For Good"- Wicked

I am from out of town, so my eyes usually water a little during ever opening number I see on broadway, because I am so happy to be actually there seeing a show.
Now, the first time I took my boyfriend to NYC to see Rent he cried so hysterically during "Without You" that I thought we were going to have to go into the lobby until he calmed down.
It was sweet and embaressing.

Well I have never bawled hysterically..but some of the songs or scenes where I have become moved emotionally to the point of tears are:
1) From "Make them Hear You" through the finale of RAGTIME (when little Coalhouse runs out)--EXTREMELY MOVING!!
2) The finale of TITANIC--when the living join the dead for the reprise of "Godspeed Titanic"
3) The "Where in the World/How Could I Ever Know" scene in THE SECRET GARDEN when Archie is on the brink of suicide
4) as mentioned many times over...."A Little Fall of Rain" from LES MISERABLES
5)From "All the Wasted Time" through the finale of PARADE...the "happy memorial day" line gets me every time!
6) "If I Loved You" reprise from CAROUSEL-- when Billy realizes how much he truly loved Julie and how awful he treated her AND "You'll Never Walk Alone" (both times)
Wow..I could go on and on and on....but I will spare all of you and limit it to 6! :)
