That was the most excited my ears have been by hearing a new piece of Broadway music for the first time since I can't remember when.  Y'all are ridiculous.  

Such thrilling staging nearly neutered by the ridiculously hyper camera movement! Why aren't we allowed to take in any of the stage pictures?

Did you see Cats: Jellicle Ball off-broadway?  I think the pure joy of that production may be hard to beat, as much as I'd love to see Ragtime get the recognition. 

It's interesting how, similar to some comments about Into the Woods, Lear isn't getting credit for shaping the cast's performances.  While I have yet to see Ragtime at LCT, what struck me at City Center was the care and meaning behind every word and every character - which is very much how I felt about Into the Woods.  To me, this is more important in a successful production than the visual bells and whistles folks often associate with "directing."

There really isn’t more music than this and the dialogue has nothing to do with the music, so why include it? The score and the plot are so barely connected that I struggle to even think of this as true musical theater. 

Any news on when the rest of it will arrive?  I really hate the new trend of cast recordings coming out in dribs and drabs.

I think producers are probably seeing the receipts from the three star-driven vehicles and planning more of the same. 

Green's exclusion of Operation Mincemeat almost everywhere and inclusion of Redwood in choreography are particularly outlandish.  I don't claim to have a crystal ball, but even with lots of uncertainty, its certain the nominations will look nothing like his picks.

My vote would be for Nicole Scherzinger.

Is the set for the curtain call indicative of the design as a whole? It's not terribly appealing to my eye at least...

I have a feeling some perceptions of the score will change once there is a cast recording.  It is very well written.

There's nothing the majority of you won't complain over...

Excited for a Michael Arden-directed anything.  But also this whole endeavor sounds right up my alley.

It really sounds excellent!  Especially the Prelude, which always irked me with such a small band.

I assume Smash wouldn’t be considered a new score, correct? Anyone know how much, if any, new music is in the show that wasn’t in the tv show? I also assume “Let’s Be Bad” won’t be used since it was in Some Like It Hot?
