when my friends and i went to see wicked, during for good, cuz they were all leaving for college the next week and we've been friends for so long and u i was still a grade behind lol
It wasn't a live performance, but it was the RENT trailer - Seasons of Love. The very first time I saw it, I had my computer in my lap, I just sobbed for an hour. I don't even know why. I just cried, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever watched on this screen.

no contest: Lots Wife in C or C
second third and fourth go to:
Elaborate Lives reprise (with heather headley acting it)
Fable (from Piazza)
Anytime (in Bill Finn's Elegies)
Every time I see Rent, I cry like a baby from the end of Contact (when Angel starts to die) on. I also sobbed through For Good the first time I saw Wicked and when I saw it with my best friend for graduation.
def have to agree with emcee. The RENT trailer made me cry. I was so happy to finally see it ^_^
CAROUSEL - I cried during the reprise of "You'll Never Walk Alone" because my loved one was crying.
Depends on how bad they are.
J/K!!!!
I've cried. Miss Saigon. Caroline, Or Change. But, I don't recall sobbing uncontrollably. I think the only time I got that worked up was W;T.
Seussical - Finale ("I have wings. Yes, I can fly. You teach him earth, and I will teach him sky...") *sniffles*
Ragtime - Finale/Wheels of a Dream (reprise)
Carousel - Finale/You'll Never Walk Alone (reprise)
Notice how they're all finales...
Oh. And Elaborate Lives, closing night of AIDA. From then on, I was gone. Like a baby.

Mine have already been posted...
ElphabaRose, same thing here. Every time I see RENT, from then on it's waterworks.
and luvtheEmcee, about the 4th time I saw the RENT trailer(which was early in the morning after a sleepless night) I just started sobbing for no particular reason.
As you can see, RENT has a very powerful effect on me. Can't wait to see the movie!

I've never sobbed hysterically at the theatre, but I cried an awful lot during Angel's funeral/eulogy.
Les Mis! After A Little Fall of Rain and at the end after the Prologue/Finale. When everyone 'comes back' and sings Do You Hear The People Sing at the end I start sobbing, and usually can't stop until I'm leaving the theatre. Then I think about it after and cry too.
Stokes singing "The Impossible Dream."
In theatre
Fiddler on the roof. When Alfred Molina sang " Chavelette", I just couldn't hold my tears any more.
Out of Theatre
Les Miserables. Tim Howar sang " Empty Chairs at Empty Tables". I cried not only for the song itself but a lot of old memory was stirred by it.
Watching the final performance of Les Miz in Lincoln center library. At the end, I sat in front of the screen, smiling with tears.

Ditto the RENT trailer. I had no idea why I was so worked up over it but I just couldn't stop crying. Not really sobbing, but every time I thought I was fine, it'd start all over again. And this isn't that bad but seeing as how I RARELY cry for shows/movies etc, seeing Wicked last night, when I heard the first chords to the show and for the first song, I was trying so hard not to cry. Again, absolutely no idea why since it wasn't sad. Maybe because I had been waiting to see the show for a year and now that time was finally here and it fully hit me when the first notes started to play. Lame, I know but what can I say?

During an entire show --
The Beautiful Game - Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical that dwells on sectarian violence. A very contemporary but very poignant and sad theme.
I've told this RENT story a bunch of times, but after I saw the cast on set, I didn't sleep that night. I stayed up and just cried for no particular reason. I listened to the CD, and I'd get to "Halloween," and just lose it.
It was VERY weird.
"Another Day" from RENT. Oh my gosh, I cried like a baby the 2nd time I saw the show during this number.
The only time I ever teared up a bit was during Little Women, towards the end of some things are mant to be and in the fire within me when she writes the book.
THe finale scene of Titanic the musical.....i remmber sobbing through curtain call and the stage door....
Everytime Charity ( as played by Christina) cries in Sweet Charity i start BALLING my eyes out.....needless to say Where Am I Going? is liek the saddest song of my life
From all these posts I take it I shouldn't wear mascara to the Rent movie...?
hahaha yeah. I'm not wearing one iota of makeup to the movie theatre and I'm stuffing my purse full of kleenex. :-P I know I'll be bawling like a baby through most of it. Just watch, the minute the opening credits come up I'll lose it.
ha, I'm certainly not going to bother wearing any.
Adam's name on the screen --> tears.
I agree with dreamcatcher... I know that I am going to use the bathroom before the movie because I may pee in excitement.
