I actually saw the show at yesterday's matinee (5/31). There was an insert in the program that said "At the performance the role of SID usually played by Harry Connick, Jr. will indeed be played by Harry Connick, Jr." and then it went on to explain that he hurt his calf muscle on Sunday evening and was under Doctor's care. He could still perform the show with slight alterations. "He will not be swinging from any vines or doing any backflips, but if he seems to be performing more carefully, that is why. Thanks for your understanding." A lady next to me after the show actually wondered where the vines were and where I supposed the backflips had taken place. Gotta love the Wednesday matinee crowd! All in all, it was a super performance. Wonderful, wonderful show! And Harry came out to sign after the matinee. There were only about 15 people there, myself included, waiting for autographs. He was very courteous and appreciative. Kelli O'Hara came out as well and was just gorgeous. I told her I had seen her in DRACULA and PIAZZA. I told her how much I enjoyed her in PIAZZA and how I wished it was her Clara being preserved. She said she had wished too. She then said that they were going to work it out so she could go back in, but that she couldn't with PAJAMA being extended. (I didn't tell her how much I enjoyed her in DRACULA. That would have approaced 'scary stalker' territory. I was at one of the last previews when they still did the nudity at ALL shows!)

Thats really upsetting that Kelli can't go back in. The show suffers a bit without her.

It would have been nice to see her, but then she was given an opportunity to leave for another show. You then also leave the door open for Matt to return for that one performance. I'm thinking it's the best decision to show the current cast (at least for the prevention of bad feelings for those possibly left out).

Thank you for verifying that what I heard was indeed true. I'm glad to hear the injury hasn't taken Connick Jr. out of the show and that he is able to continue - backflips or not -

Nice to see he has endurance, this show is only going on for so long with this cast. I *heart* him too.

Interesting that they will Alter Choreography for HARRY and not for any of the ensemble when people get hurt. There have been a fair share of injuries during this run. But I am glad to hear he's a trooper.
