Harry Potter Pt 1 Question

I would not, it's really half of a single story. It's not a two part show like Angels in America where you can see one part without the other and follow it along/feel satisfied with the ending. As Danielle0314 said, it ends on a cliffhanger and there won't be any resolution without Part 2.

As everyone has said, you really need to see both parts. Keep in mind, though, that while it looks a bit easier now to only see one part, you don't necessarily get to pick which day for Part 1 you want to see. They only offer "one part only" tickets for select dates (part 2 seems a bit more ubiquitous).

Definitely transportation issue. I can hop on the train and get to NYC in under 2 hrs but the last train out of the city home is around 8pm and the first train out the next morning is almost 12 hrs later. I’m on the Amtrak line direct to NYC but my station only has about 7 pick up and drop off times during the day so I’m limited.

Gotcha. Your best bet is to see both parts in one day, stay in a hotel, and train home in the morning. Good planning and you'll be fine, and not break the bank. Good luck! (And as someone who's about to fly home for the third time to see it, it's totally worth it) :)

What about a different framing. Would you only see the first act of any another show if it was the only way to get out of town in time?
