Forgive me if this has been discuss (I tried to search, but nothing has come up.) In December, I purchased tickets to Harry Potter for July. Because of the way ticketing was set it, I had to take what they assigned -- and I got Row Y. Since then, I've heard that small parts of the show are cut off, and ultimately, they don't look like great seats. Since then, I have gotten 2 emails from them announcing new ticket blocks on sale - and today's email announced that you can now "choose your own seats." There are MANY much better seats in my same price range now available that I wasn't given the option to purchase 5 months ago.
I've called Ticketmaster - and they said they can't help because the production has a strict "no exchanges and refunds policy." I've also called the Lyric Theatre - and they said call Ticketmaster.
I would love to somehow provide feedback to the production (I'm not sure if they would even care), but as a customer who purchased tickets WAY in advance, I feel like I have been taken advantage of. The whole interaction has left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess I made a mistake by being too eager to book my tickets in advance, and will be stuck with my seats. Does anyone have advice, or am I totally stuck without options?
Good luck! The sooner you sell them, the better off you are since Harry Potter also uses dynamic ticketing pricing. If available inventory is high and the performance is coming up soon, they decrease the face value price of seats so the likelihood of selling all of the seats is quite high.
All (or nearly all) B'way tickets have the same "no refunds, no exchanges" attached. While you might be disappointed, it's not their fault at all. You can't really be annoyed by them actually adhering to very clear policies. They didn't take advantage of you...in any way.
I sat in row Z and only had a smidgen of something that was blocked from my view.

It's not much consolation, but you're not alone being confused and/or angry about HP's ticketing practices.

I haven't done this for Potter but I've done it though ticketmaster many times before so maybe worth a shot if there are any tickets available for the date you're attending. If you call and ask to pay for a higher tier of seats available they have always given me a refund for my original tickets since I just spent more money on a new set.
Hope it works out for you, either way the shows were amazing.
