Does anyone know if Harvey is back at the Neil Simon rehearsing for his 'first' show next Tuesday?
What's the typical protocal for a situation like this anyway (when an actor who originated the role returns to re-assume the role)? Do they typically have to relearn all the blocking and choreography? I wonder how much of the book Harvey still has committed to his memory.

Replacements get 2 weeks rehearsal. I'm sure it's no different for Harvey, though Marc S. could shine more light onto the situation.

Posted: 11/5/08 at 8:30pmI doubt he needs as much rehearsal as someone coming into the show completely green.

Gotcha. Thanks Dottie.
I'm sure many of the younger actors in the cast will be looking up to Harvey. He's pure brilliance.
BTW.. With the exception of George leaving for Harvey to take over, is the final cast pretty much intact now? Is anyone else planning to come or go in the next 8 weeks? Is Karen Mason sticking around?

Posted: 11/6/08 at 1:17pmA NEW Tracy?? Marissa is leaving? That makes absolutely no sense. Why would they show Marissa the door and bring in a new lead for a show that's closing in 8 weeks? Doesn't really make sense, unless it's a Tracy from the past I guess.

Marissa Perry is out of the show quite often.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were bringing someone else in for the final weeks of the run who can be there and perform consistently.

I think they'd really have to do gangbusters at this point to extend. The numbers over the past few weeks have been less than stellar. And unless they start selling to what, more than 90 percent capacity again, I don't see them trying to extend during the lean winter months at a time when Broadway is struggling as a whole.
Hank... Please write a review for us after Tuesday's show! Harvey better get huge entrance applause after "Who wants to know?!?"
