Harvey's Hairspray Exit#0
Posted: 1/22/04 at 3:24pmAccording to Cindy Adams, Harvey himself said that he will leave Hairspray in March.

yes.. but according to other reliable sources, his departure isn't really until MAY.
Also - there are many wrong "fact" in that same column.. so don't believe everything you read of Cindy's...
re: re: Harvey's Hairspray Exit#2
Posted: 1/22/04 at 3:30pmI guess that's why they call Cindy Adams a "gossip columnist"!

Yes, the NY Times made a one sentence blurb saying Harvey's last performance is May 2nd. My money is on his renewing his conract and/or taking a brief vacation to relax, only to return for another great run. Call me crazy.........wait, don't do that.
If it's true, congrats to whoever has the opportunity to recreate the role.

Posted: 1/24/04 at 12:51amDoes anyone think that they will ever hire a woman for that role? Or will it always be a man in drag?
re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Harvey's Hairspray Exit#19
Posted: 1/24/04 at 1:05amI hope they never have a women play the role it would take away form it. It's writen for a man and I fell it should stay a man. I think thta is one of the only things that would stop me form going to see the show. To do that it's got to be bad!
