According to Cindy Adams, Harvey himself said that he will leave Hairspray in March.
yes.. but according to other reliable sources, his departure isn't really until MAY.
Also - there are many wrong "fact" in that same column.. so don't believe everything you read of Cindy's...
I guess that's why they call Cindy Adams a "gossip columnist"!

PennyLou - I love that you have both Kerry and Jen in your Icon. That shows respect and class. However, regarding your asking me to elaborate......... His departure date is NOT confirmed. Options to renew dates, yes. Departure dates, no.
Thank you Kerry and Jenn are both wonderful performers with there own amazing voices and they are both very funny as Penny. Also very nice people in real life. I look up to and admire both of them.
Also thank you for clearing up you statment for me :)
Actually, it's now been confirmed for May 2nd.

Yes, the NY Times made a one sentence blurb saying Harvey's last performance is May 2nd. My money is on his renewing his conract and/or taking a brief vacation to relax, only to return for another great run. Call me crazy.........wait, don't do that.
If it's true, congrats to whoever has the opportunity to recreate the role.

How often do you see him that you would miss him?
Does anyone think that they will ever hire a woman for that role? Or will it always be a man in drag?
I hope they never have a women play the role it would take away form it. It's writen for a man and I fell it should stay a man. I think thta is one of the only things that would stop me form going to see the show. To do that it's got to be bad!
at last! It's just a matter of time and when. 1st Kerry, then Laura Bell, then Marissa, then Matt and Clarke and now Harvey...... *sighes.... cries*
