I was just wondering if it had. It seems strange to me that such a low budget show would take this long to do so. Specially since it is getting close to its one year mark.

I was wondering the same only yesterday.

People on this board have repeatedly said what its low operating weekly nut is, can not remember the exact figure but think it is about $250k a week, so very low overheads. Next to Normal grosses about $400k average per week. When this show is not making its nut on Broadway, it would be a ideal show to do the same as Avenue Q or The 39 Steps and move back to Off-Broadway.

I plan to see Next to Normal again when I am back in New York at the end of March, but if the producers are reading, us on the West End Board would love to see this great musical come over, after all the Novello and Duke of York theatre are available.

I heard a rumor that it did, but it wasn't announced. I don't know if that's true though. I would think they'd announce it.

David Stone is no dummy. When it recoups, he'll surely announce it. It's free publicity.

We've been saying they were close for months. I'm not quite sure how much publicity for the show itself, it actually brings....but I can't imagine not wanting to put the info "out there" as a self marketing tool. (The producers, the director, the designers, the playwrights and such.)

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
