CHICAGO is like my life.
I am going back for my 4th time when Brooke joins the cast. I've seem Paige Davis twice as Roxie - which was a total delight. And the amazing Michelle DeJean as Roxie - she's the tall beautiful redhead from the ensemble, and she understudied the role while Charlotte was in Charity, and now she's playing it full time on tour! And I've seen the wonderful Brenda Braxton and Terra M as Velma.. and ofcourse the amazing Chris Sieber as Billy.
I think of CHICAGO as a spectacle. NOT a spectacle of set, and costumes.. but a spectacle of TALENT. Some shows can get away with just having big sets and costumes - and minor talent. CHICAGO is all about the talent, and the amazing music & choreography.

Charlotte is amazing. Love her. I'd like to see Brooke Shields play Velma to Charlotte's Roxie

Brooke is talented. But she dosen't have the voice for Velma, and her dancing just isn't there yet for Velma - in my opinion.
I LOVE Brooke though, and can't wait for her ROXIE.

I saw it back in april. I thought it was great. Brent Barret bored me as Billy but the ensemble was terrific. It was a good cast.

Christopher McDonald plays Billy currently. He was the only person I didn't absolutely fall in love with...but he was still great. I just kind of hate the part of Billy...it bothers me.

Yeah... Billy needs to be played by the right guy.
It's one of my dream roles - hopefully someday I can sustain that G in "We Both Reached For The Gun."

The cast of Chicago is awesome right now.
My uncle is the hairsupervisor for the show. I have ment most of the ensemble. You can see some pics of me with them on my website www.timothykeough.cjb.net
hey member Joshua488 I was right next to you in standing room. And I saw you again coming out of the stage door.

Unfortunately, I haven't found the show as a whole incredible since the days at the Shubert....
I've found individual performers incredible... but really not the show itself. The one time it came really really close was a few years back when Roxane Carrasco and Tracy Shayne were playing Velma and Roxie respectively, for a week.

CJR - Do you think if you saw the show lesser times - you would like it more? Because I remember reading your reviews from a few years ago, and you seemed so thrilled

Probably, but only because I didnt know any better.
I've seen the show in top notch, top form, blow your ass out of your seat shape.....
It hasn't really cut it lately.
And a few years ago I was thrilled.... it was still at the Shubert. However, it'd already moved to the Ambassador by the time I was posting here and any glowing reviews you read were usually when a good friend was in a lead.... so they were definitely a bit biased.
