#1Has anyone seen Chorus Line yet?
Posted: 2/19/07 at 8:16pmI know that it's a dumb question but, I am sooo excited to see it and wanted to know your favorite parts/songs? Tony Yazbeck actually went to my high school in 9th and 10th grade! My director for musical knows him and Tony was Jesus in "Godspell" and Rolf in "The Sound of Music". Then he moved to Florida and now he's on Broadway. I'm dying to meet him and say "I go to your high school...except I'm a senior!" I can imagine he's a sweet guy!

Posted: 2/19/07 at 9:19pmI saw it. Quite amazing, loved all of it, but Jason Tam, Charlotte D'Amboise, Heather Parcells, and Natalie Cortez were standouts. They were my favorite parts.

Nope, the theater has been empty since opening Oct. 5th. If you knew it was a dumb question why did you both posting it.
Learn to SEARCH. I'll link you, and I'm only doing this once, to my review of the show from last weekend.

D2 got to see what I like to call "Good Casting." If you go today you get to see Charlotte D'Amboise, Deidre Goodwin and Jessica Goldwyn attemtpt talent.
Note: Ok, Goodwin and D'Amboise are both very talented, just ill suited for their roles.

I agree with husk_charmer.
The show is pretty solid, and if you've never seen a good production of ACL, you will be wowed. There are just simply some weak links here. You'll be happy to hear that Yasbeck is not one of them. "Sing" has always been one of my least favorite numbers, but he and Chryssie Whitehead really make it work.
I think the big ensemble numbers worked best, since some of the individual miscasting didn't show as much.

Posted: 2/20/07 at 6:32amI saw it right before Christmas and I loved it! The new cast recoring is now one of my favorite CD's. When I went, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was great.

Posted: 2/20/07 at 9:20amUgh, for the zillionth time, I find Deidre to be an incredible talent. I loved her in "Rocky Horror," (To have seen her go on for Magenta...) she was great in both the film and stage versions of "Chicago." She just is a wrong fit for "A Chorus Line." She sings, and dances fine, she just is miscast.

It may have to do with the fact that I was seeing the show for the first time, but when I saw ACL in November I thought Deidre was spectacular and well-cast. (I agree, however, that Charlotte D'Amboise was just incredibly wrong for the role of Cassie.) I actually also loved Jessica Goldwyn.
Others I loved:
Heather Parcells
Jason Tam
Natalie Cortez
Michael Berresse

Posted: 2/20/07 at 9:30amNo idea, sounds stupid. Who stands in a line in chorus? We were on risers.

Heather's Judy was so well fleshed out and her characerization was spot on. She's definately a talent to look out for.
Rath, they couldn't afford the risers. Remember, it started off Broadway. So they used a chalk line - BS.
