The show started last week but I haven't heard anything about it, anyone gone?
I'm sure his concert is a hellofa lot more entertaining than his THOU SHALT NOT a few years back.
I just saw him in Melbourne, FL a few months ago and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. He is an amazing performer and the band was first rate. His banter with the audience was a bit stiff ....
I was sitting to two drunk people however who were singing and playing the air instruments with him and that got annoying.

Going tonight. I have seen him in concert many times. He never disappoints.
Harry Connick, Jr. In Concert on Broadway Will Be Filmed Live

Saw him on Thursday night. What a performer. It took a bit for him to warm up (though the audience was glued through and through), but that was his first time back on Broadway in years. Singing his heart out, playing several instruments, shaking what he's got, and making people laugh.
By the end of the night, I didn't want the night to end. Hmmm.
My friend went the other night and said that the first half was thrilling but then he came back for the second half and blew the roof off. He said that he sang a song from a show he wrote that didn't make it. Does anyone here know the show and the song he sings in this concert?
I wonder with the show selling very well, if he'll continue to add more performances. Why not Friday, July 30 & Sunday Aug. 1, as well??
ACL, if you read the article that TaleofTwo posted, you will see that there is a July 30th show for the taping and tickets are being sold for that.
I also figured out the song my friend liked. It was from "Thou Shalt Not" and the song was "The Other Hours".
I'm just getting back from the show tonight, and yes he does perform two songs from Thou Shalt Not, as well as Hey, There from Pajama Game. It was a mostly enjoyable evening, except it was too long, mainly due to the banter in between the songs.
The first act is 90 minutes alone, and is well-sung, but rather on the same level throughout. The second act really perks up, and there is a guest trombone player who really stops the show. Take Her To The Mardi Gras is really thrilling and was probably the highlight of the evening.
I actually believe the show is unscripted, and this doesn't always play to his favor. Some of the bits worked, while others left me restless and hoping for the next song to start. I don't mean to sound negative; I thought it was a fun summer evening of theater. It just could have used some editing here and there.
