Relatively little discussion about this riveting - to say the least - play.
I saw it a couple of years ago at Steppenwolf in Chicago, and never forgot it.
Unless I missed a previous thread...
It's actually entitled "Pass Over" and I really loved it. It's not really on brand with Lincoln Center or most of their subscribers (white people over 50), so I am not surprised that tons of people are not talking about. Great show, though.
I watched the Spike Lee film of the Chicago production (through Amazon Prime) and thought it was strong, but not to a degree that I feel a need to also see it live at LCT.
I thought it was a brilliant piece of theatre.

But were you truly blown away?

@andy51– you should definitely look into seeing it at LCT. The play has changed from when it was taped, and I thought that the use of a new musical motif and changes to the final monologue made the LCT version even more gut wrenching.

I'm sure I'll get corrected but I feel like there's rarely that much chatter about the shows at the Claire Tow. I generally like the plays I've seen there but I wasn't really motivated to see this one.
I saw it because it was on a NYT "dont miss, closing soon" list or something like that. Really glad I did. I thought it was incredible.
