Thought this might be fun, he wants back on the stage. And in London no less as the tragic Erik, who wouldn't want to see this?

Can they alter the show? Make the chandelier actually come crashing down - not a controled descent, but REALLY falling - on Hasselhoff's head? That is if he can make it through the title number and Music Of The Night without someone is the audience killing him first.

LOL, very true BWG2, his management team are putting out feelers again, they did several months ago to no avail, but a girl can dream right?

waaaaayyyy back in 89 when Michael Crawford was set to leave the Broadway company and head up the LA production every leading man and his mother had themselves submitted, Barry Bostwick by the way gave a solid audition, perhaps the best of the lot. But Hal Prince decided on his old friend and former NYCO Sweeney Todd, Timothy Nolen.
As long as he stays in London that's fine with me.
isn't his butchering J&H enough? does he have to do this? honestly, it's embarassing to him, cause look, people are posting about it! he's death... seriously. (though i must say, when i need a good laugh, i just watch him in J&H... his split personality scene...always cheers me up...)no no no phantom for little david.

Oh to see his Final Lair scene, oh how ripe that is for his special theatrical touch!

Hoff is box office poison. He went into J&H, and it posted notices virtually instantly. Maybe we should start wishing him on shows we don't like in general. ![]()
Somehow I doubt that he'll weasel his way into the entertainment juggernaut that is Phantom, if only because it's probably the biggest source of revenue for Lloyd Webber and Mackintosh, and manages it fine without stunt casting.

we can only hope. i think i would cry if he was phantom. really.

Word on the street has it that Melanie Griffith is a shoo-in to play Christine. And the producers are courting Nathan Lane to play Carlotta and Carol Channing to play Madame Giry.

I would laugh hysterically if this happened.
Someone said that Robert Guillaime was great as the Phantom. I have a cd of him doing and I think.... hmmmmm
Sad part of DH's J&H experience is that he really thought he was great. He gave it an honest to good effort...but he was not up for it vocally and litterally had to take oxygen during the show. The demands are amazing to play this role. DH looked great! Tall, good shape, for someone in mid 40's. But he didn't have the stamina nor the pipes to pull it off.
He'd never pull off Phantom! But don't be surprised if he shows up sometime, somewhere else on a NY stage.

I also have the Robert Guillaime cd and it sounds like he is being castrated while he sings. Obviously Mr. Guillaime, like Tyne Daly, must have had a cold when recording it.

I also have the "dance mixes" of Phantom of the Opera....
Why would they do that to him?

Actually, I think "HOFF" has about three moments, in the show where he is allmost ok! My favorite parts are these: OH DEAR GOD! WHAT IS THIS? and the lets show my chest hair part.

Wouldn't that guy from KISS who played the role near the end of the show's run in Toronto count as stunt casting?
By the way, I favor Harvey for Carlotta

Do not let this happen. Anyone, anywhere, anytime EVER.
Actually Hasselhoff is not that bad of a dramatic actor. He displayed some quality stage acting in the role. He just blew it vocally and would be equally as poor behind a mask. Unless you're an expereinced stage actor, it's hard to jump into this in your mid forties(?). Screen to Stage is a very hard transition. imho
Jack Wagner was the weakest Jekyll they stunt casted of them all. Yet he brought the grosses up as high as Cuccioli's first 6 mos. or so. Sebastian Bach also surprised everyone with his ability to sing the heck out of this role . Boy! did he love doing Jekyll and the cast loved him right back!
Paul Stanley (KISS) did pretty well as Phantom, according to his fans. I didn't see him. I did hear Robert Guiliame (sp) was very, very good.
OK, that's all for me!Happy Tuesday!

Everybody's good according to his/her fans. I saw neither Stanley nor Guillaume so I don't know. I did hear a CD of RG's singing the songs from Phantom and didn't care for it.
ahhh that would be scary!
"As long as he stays in London that's fine with me." lol Phantess, I agree!

Sally, Fierstein refused to gain the weight to play Carlotta.

I actually am totally opposite on my view of him, I think he has an ok, just ok VOICE but his acting was complete sh1t in Jekyll, and thats what made the video so bad, luckily those chicks blew me away and god was the lucy hot!
