To bad it was not done with Cuccioli or Evan
I am glad it was done as I do like J/H & Wildhorn in general

Posted: 2/3/07 at 5:09pmWhile I don't really enjoy Wildhorn, I do have a fondness for Jekyll...he actually has some really nice moments. If it weren't for the fact that the Hoff is in it, it would be an amazing DVD. Colleen Sexton and Andrea Rivette are both amazing in their roles. I also agree that the Tour's script was muuuuch better than the Broadway script, and if I am going to listen to the score, I choose the 2-Disc with Anthony Warlow.

Oh god the first time I saw this I laughed so hard I cried. My favourite bits were in Transformation when he looked as though he had a carrot stuck up his ass and in Confrontation throwing his head back and forth. god that was funny.
I have to say though, I actually quite like the show and I thought Colleen Sexton was amazing in her role, but that DVD brings me a hell of a lot of entertainment for all the wrong reasons

Posted: 2/3/07 at 7:38pmI think Sexton's terrible, too...they should just re-do the whole film and cast the originals....

TT, Hasselhoff was called in by them to assume the role without an audition, as many "bigger names" often are.
The BTN was called in to film the show based on the offer that David made with them to assist in financing the project. One of the clauses was that the current cast be used, which of course included him, exclusively.
There was additional BTN footage of the show using other cast members, for technical reasons, but they were not part of the finished project and not available to the public.

I didn't actually see the DVD, BTN. I just saw snipets of Colleen Sexton on youtube.com...she's NO LINDA EDER, that's for sure...
Eder and Cuccioli should really do the film...if they're not cast...the casting directors are nuts...

Posted: 2/5/07 at 11:54amHasselhoff is utterly talentless. He can barely WALK, let alone sing and act. The dvd is worth nothing except for the ladies singing "In His Eyes." Other than that, watch it with a bunch of theatre-loving friends (preferably slightly drunk) and make fun of David Hasselhoff.

Just wanted to drop a note in regards to Jekkyl & Hyde. I saw the show when it was touring before it hit Broadway. The Broadway version had a lot of cuts and changes that really hurt the show. The tour was remarkable, the sets, the staging and the effects were incredible. Not to mention the longer score and additional songs. Not only did they cut the score and some songs for Broadway, but the cast and the sets were scaled way down, I suppose the space in the small theater had something to do with it. The music was haunting and the show built to a climax. There were scenes that were down right chilling and the use of blood was abundent, after all this was supposed to be a gothic thriller. A few years later I was to make my first trip to New York and remembering how effective this show was I bought tickets to see it. Imagine my surprise and confusion when I got to the theater and saw that it was starring David Haslehoff. I was there the week they filmed the dvd. I have also seen the dvd. It does not represent how good this show really is or was. I do have one comment about the dvd, the filming in no way interfered with watching the show live and as a dvd of a Broadway show, it was quite well done. Imagine being able to watch your favorite show as if you were right their in the theater watching it live. It is an example of how it should be done.

No, they'd be foolish. In all due respect, Bob and Linda are in there mid 40's with no film experience. I can't imagine them taking that direction at all.
When/if it does happen, there's slim to no chance that anyone who played it onstage will be "sellable" enough to be cast. If the producers/investors are putting their money into this, they will want some bankable names.
