"I think the poster is just pointless. The average person doesn't know what the hell that poster means or what 4.23.07 even means."
I agree with that statement. If I was just a regular guy who isn't to familar with Broadway and wasn't on a board like this or websites like Broadwayworld, Broadway.com, and Playbill.com, I wouldn't know what I was looking at.
I didn't even SEE it. I was on the opposite corner. I looked up at those signs out of habit and completely missed that one.
i wouldn't be surprised if people mistake the ad for Viagra or levitra
I was just thinking about how they could have come up with something better than "Size Matters," but then I thought maybe they'll have a giant Frankenstein somewhere in NYC that day. That would be really cool.
If this helps to de-mystify things...
I've heard that the cast of YF begins rehearsals in June, and has an out-of-town tryout in Seattle beginning in August or September.

They should have made a website saying something like www.SizeMattersOnBroadway.com (insert dirty joke here), and had the link on the ad. That way people could go to it and they could get redirected to the YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN website or something and realize what the hell the ad is supposed to mean.
"Size Matters" is SOOOOOOOO Mel Brooks, if it is at all related to YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. There is a good chance that it is related to something in the theatre. Games, music, and video/DVD releases are scheduled for Tuesdays (24 April). And, theatrical film releases are scheduled for Fridays (20 or 27 April).

I'm still just pissed that my favorite comedy of all time is being turned into a musical and is having an out-of-town tryout in Seattle and not CHICAGO!
I think it's just since it's the first day that the St. James will be vacant, it will be ready for YF... like a "now the spirit of YF is allowed to loom the great white way"
THAT'S what that poster is for?? I walked by this in Times Square tonight, after getting out of Les Miz. Now, I'm a pretty good theatregoer, average bww.com user, etc. and I had no clue that this poster was for a show- I honestly thought it was hiding some new character in the new "Fantastic Four part 2" movie.
Didn't even catch on that there was a Frankenstein's monster shape in there (now I can kinda see it, in the shoes area).
