Have you seen the new CHITTY TV spot?

I only caught a glimpse on Chittythemusical.com. It's just awesome! Don't live in the area, so I don't know how often it is playing in the tri-state area...I think it will give the show the media exposure it deserves to sell lots of tickets! GO CHITTY!

Really? I am seeing the show for the third time (once already in London) and thought it was captivating! I also think seeing the car fly for oh, say, 3 seconds on the spot, makes you really want to see it in person...

I have to agree. I saw the show last night and was not very fond of it. I thought the actors were trying their best and the all are very talented. I was however underwhelmed by Raul's performance. To me he seemed a bit bored. I think he is a talent, maybe he was having an off night.

The only thing that did impress me was the car. Even thought I knew how it worked, I think it is extremely impressive and seemed very real. The kids ate it up. And that is why I hope the show has a very long life. The kids seemed to be having a great time and that is great. It is always good to see future theater lovers enjoying themselves.

It's great to read someone who gets it! Yes, it is a show for "families" and a great opportunity for that first theater experience for the kiddies!!!!! It is visually stunning, has wonderful music, and it is a story with heart... and I will admit, Michael Ball in London was tremendous; I feel Raul, although he is super talented, really is not right for the show... I hate to admit it, but if the producers were to replace him I bet the show would do even better than it is...

'tis magic.

No, but it's very complicated. And if I tried to explain it, you'd probably just be confused -- so consider it magic. re: Have you seen the new CHITTY TV spot?

Haven't seen it. re: Have you seen the new CHITTY TV spot? But, if it's anything like the show, I know I would love it! re: Have you seen the new CHITTY TV spot?

Aww! So freakin' adorable. That smile. *sigh*

On a side note, they are now selling stuffed Teddy bears that say Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I'm so tempted to by one and name the bear Raúl.

Aww, I just saw it. It made me happy. I think I'm gonna go see it tomorrow night so I can see Marc Kudisch before he leaves.

I think the little t-shirt that the bear is wearing actually says "Respect the Bear"....

I saw the matinee on Wednesday...was disappointed that Mark was out, but was not disappointed to see Rick in for Raul.... I thought he was super good...... Now, I only saw Raul opening night, and maybe he was nervous or something, but I hate to say it, but I thought Rick was superior and was so much more believable to me in the role..... I just think Raul, although a mega-talent, is miscast... I feel bad about that, but he just doesn't look the part for openers...and I now see why he was overlooked by the Tony nominating committee... but Erin, Jan and Mark were not... doesn't that tell you something?

He was out again? Damn, Raúl.

I saw the show about a week before it opened -- and have been back many times since. I'm happy to say he's gotten way better, and has overcome the notion of being "miscast," which I *did* believe him to be at first. Try to see him again if you can. He's really come to know how to take that part and run with it.

As for the Tony nomination, over which I am still *severely* pissed off, I think it was a combination of a few things; while I think he's a better *actor* than many of the ones who did get nominations, the award/nomination is for best *performance*. And this is not his best, nor is it the best on Broadway right now. I also think that the leading man category this year was huge, and particularly strong. There were a lot of VERY deserving men who were overlooked.

Yup, out again... but it must have been very last minute 'cause there was no slip in the Playbill...but Mark was out too! And that's one of the reasons I went on Wednesday before he left this weekend...
