"Haven't I Seen This Art Before?"

With all our talk of marketing and design for shows, I was struck recently by how similar the artwork for the upcoming off-Broadway production of A Taste of Things to Come is to ART's poster for Waitress.

Can you think of any other examples of very similar designs from two different shows? Or perhaps you've seen some hilariously blatant rip-offs?

Then there's David Byrd's original art for FOLLIES and GODSPELL...

I don't buy your premise. One has a distinctly waitress-y apron and the other a distinctly housewife-y apron. Because that's what the 2 shows are about. I also don't find 2 blue and yellow/gold designs remotely similar.

Hogan, this thread is not intended as a negative, not one bit. I just thought it was interesting that both shows' posters feature writing across an apron.

Of course none of these were probably intentionally similar, either...it's not a "premise," per se, just observation...
