I do! Love the album and also especially love her version of "Elaborate Lives" from the Elton John Aida 'concept' album. I think she's great!
I'd heard she was working on another album but have no idea how far she's gotten.
She was wonderful in Aida and I was glad she won the Tony-- it was an electrifying performance!

Love the album - now, though i must admit i was initially a little disappointed with it....especially when comparing the vocals to that of the AIDA soundtrack.
She scored two number one adult contemporary singles ("He Is" and "I Wish I Wasn't") and being that the album went Gold+, she's back in the studio working on her sophomore effort.
I love Heather's music, but NOTHING compares to hearing that woman sing LIVE!! If only BroadwayCares would release a cd/dvd of her "Home" concert.

Was (at first) very, very, very upset that it turned out the way it did. But I wound up, after several FORCED listens, falling in love with it. Some of the songs have become few to bring me to tears.
Really wish she'd release a Broadway album.

Loved it from the very 1st note. Played it so much I had to give it a rest. Now that it has been brought back to my attention...I think it might go back into my listening rotation again!

Don't forget that she was also niminated for two Grammys. Best Female R&B Vocal for "I Wish I Wasn't" and Best New Artist. Sadly, she won neither, but she is at work on her sophomore effort.
Laughter is much more important than applause. Applause is almost a duty. Laughter is a reward.

crp2000 "If only BroadwayCares would release a cd/dvd of her "Home" concert."
I am almost positive that I bought a dvd of Heather's "Home" concert at the broadway flea market this past year. I will have to go upstairs to check, but I am almost positive because I was surprised when I bought it because I didn't think they were recording it.
Also, I love Heather's cd. It took a while for me to get used to it (I think I was having Aida withdrawl) but now I love it.

Don't own it, but have heard clips and her voice is so hauntingly beautiful. It's almost chilling. I need to find her CD somewhere to buy.
I wanted to get something that an "ex"-junkie like him would really appreciate and cherish....it's a brick of heroin shaped like a heart.

I think I love her more than a little. Why don't I own this?

Yes! If you don't own - definetly check it!
All I have to say is. Remember the genre of the album is R&B/Soul. This isn't a Broadway album. She has some really lush, hauntingly beautiful ballads. She has some upbeat neo soul songs. It's definetly a great album.

I bought the CD the day it came out, and forced 2 listens, and haven't listened to it again. Well thanks to this thread, I am now importing to my IPOD and am going to give it another chance. R&B is not my favorite genre, but I am willing to listen to this some more.

Eh, I truly don't get it. I've seen this woman sing twice on television and it was painful to watch/hear. I've never heard a Tony winner, with such loving fans, go flat and sharp so many times, and on such unimpressive notes. It's not like she was trying to hit a high C and went a little sharp. I was left LESS than impressed. To say nothing of the veins that were BULGING from her neck, and for what? I don't get it.

I love "I wish I Wasn't..." The song helped me through a recent breakup.

Jukebox - I haven't seen her in Aida. But I'm sure all the people who have seen her as Aida can tell you she has no problem singing live.
Another thing I love about this album is - it's real R&B and soul. She isn't singing over electronic hip hop beats. She has real melodies, and instruments.

Be that as it may, doesn't change what I saw on two different occasions, two different events. Not everyone has to like everyone, it's not a big deal. I was just let down because I had heard so many wonderful things about her. I hate when someone or something is built up to be way more than what it is, at least, to me.

I enjoyed the album. I'm looking forward to Heather's second album. I wish they had included the Japan bonus track "Just A Dream" to the U.S. version. The song is a vocal delight.

i happen to love her album. I actually cried when listening to some of the songs. and yes that is ironic about cox.
"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell

JukeBox - we all hear and see things from different perspectives. Hell, i still don't understand the love for Adam Pascal. LoL!
Someone please confirm the availability of the "Home" concert on cd/dvd. I emailed BroadwayCares...assuming i won't hear from them 'til next week.

Guys check this out..
A live video of Heather performing her hit Grammy nominated song "I Wish I Wasn't"
It's very good. Just Heather and the piano. I wish it included the second key change at the end, because she nails those key changes.

And if you wanna watch the real video for I Wish I Wasn't.
I think the vocals on the single version used for the video are a little better than the album vocals - she gets a little more belty here after the first key change - opposed th the album. The only negative part of the video version is that it's missing the ending "Now you're knocking at the door again...".

Yeah - i prefer the video version...just for the belt.
I should probably mention that there are actually two versions of the cd out there. The original version includes a 6+ minute long version of 'I Wish'. The re-released version includes the 4+ minute video version with the 'belt'. FYI.
