What time do people start getting to the theatre to wait for SRO tickets? I'm thinking of doing it on Thursday.

Anyone done this recently? Like since it opened? How many tickets are they giving out? And what time is the safe bet to get there? I know that guy said 4-5 but what was your experience. Thanks in advance! :)

I got there around 3 last Friday and was first in line. By about 4:30 a guy came out and evaluated how many tickets we all wanted and told the end of the line only let another couple people get on.

I got there at 4pm last Friday and was 7th in line.
I don't know if will change, but they told us that they usually give away 15-20 standing room tickets, because the production can request them up until 45 minutes before the show.
I would say 5pm is pushing it, unless it's a rainy weeknight. The run is selling out and lotto is getting 100+ people, so soon SRO will be the only "guaranteed" tickets available.

I was there tonight, and the rain did not seem to be much of a deterrent! The majority of people who got tickets arrived between 4:30-5, I think, so yes, 5:00 is a gamble. They sold 24 tickets (though they told someone in the line earlier in the afternoon that they would sell "15, plus or minus 5"), and the manager was really nice about letting us move the line under the awning and out of the rain and selling them to us a few minutes early.

On Saturdays, do they do lotto/standing room at the same time? I tried lookin for an answer but couldn't find anything.

Last Saturday I got on line at 2pm and was 6th in line and got tickets. The first person arrived at 12:30. 18 tickets were handed out. We were told sometime around 4pm the box office had 15-20 SRO tickets. When it was time for the lottery, a representative walked the line to give us paper and pencils to enter our names. Much easier than other theaters. Those who just missed out for the 7pm SRO tickets then waited for the 10pm show. That's a really long day, but they were at the head of the line. Also, no megaphone used for the lottery and it was hard to hear. Thankfully a friend was there, so I stayed in line and she listened for names. Also, I noticed a couple of people appearing to attempt sneaking into the line. But I was ready to call them out. Protect the line!

Thanks, okiekat! This might not have been on your radar, but did you see people in the line who were just there for the 10:00? I'd like to try for that without trying for the 7:00 and am wondering if I can squeeze in a matinee before heading over.
And yes, I definitely wish they would invest in a megaphone for the lotto. With those crowds, it's hard to hear even if you've moved over for the SRO line to the lotto group.

I attended Hedwig yesterday/June 1st...caught the 3:00PM matinee...They sold 23 SRO tix... I arrived shortly before 9:00am...but people who arrived 90 mins later all got in. Passed the time playing "Heads Up"
You're allowed to by 2 tix each. So, if you don't arrive early, send a friend on your behalf. Good luck! The show rocks- totally worth it

All Broadway shows should send personnel over to the Book of Mormon lottery. Lottery Dude does a great job and makes the procedure a lot of fun. I haven't done BOM in a while, though, so I'm assuming he's still there.
