JCM recently said Hedwig is going to London, but is there any more news on this?
I'd love to see JCM reprise the role yet again just for the off chance that we could get a cast recording of him with the new orchestrations.
I also think Kerry Ellis would make a superb Yitzhak.

Kerry Ellis as Yitzhak would be incredible.

John said on the red carpet at the Tonys that they're looking for the right person to play Hedwig for the West End run. Considering he's prepping a film he'll direct in the fall, he's not really available to do it himself anyway.

I can see the marquee now:
"Hedwig and the Angry 2.54 Centimeters"

Posted: 7/3/15 at 10:03amI could've sworn I saw a Broadway publicist tweet last night, "Alan Cumming at Hedwig. Just saying." But now I can't find it. Anyone else see it?

I know he just filmed a movie playing a transgender, but Eddie Redmayne as Hedwig?

I don't think you can really read into Alan being at Hedwig though. That person may have just saw him there and assumed it meant something, but he and Darren are friends, so it could also just mean he was there to see his friend.
I do think he'd be a great Hedwig, but with filming for his show being in NYC, i would imagine it'd be pretty tricky to get him in the London version unless it's not actually happening that soon.

Yes, I saw Alan at the show last night. Some of the Belasco's staff I spoke with were saying Alan was in very early discussions regarding replacing Taye in October. He would be the final one as well.

This made me laugh a lot harder than it should have.

Darque, that's because Matt Smith kinda looks like NPH.
I would love to see alan in the role. I knew they were closing shop soon. Probably January leaving the Belasco open for American Psycho.

Can't say I see the resemblance- when I see Matt Smith, I think tall and lanky, while NPH makes me think small bundle of energy.
But if what I heard about the Doctor Who star from a few female and gay friends is true, they'd have to rename the show "Hedwig and the Angry Damn Near a Foot."
