Welcome to Broadway World. I hope you enjoy posting here. I always enjoy hearing a fresh point of view. Some of the regulars here are such broken records that I could write their posts for them! (had I the energy to be as long winded.) Also, be aware that there is an ignore feature that allows you to block out the unpalatable folk here. I've used it amply, and I can assure you, it makes this site a much more agreeable place.

If I can give you one piece of advice, whether you're a genuine newcomer or a troll in disguise, it would come from the words of obscure theatre critic Jesus H(erschel?) Christ: "Love your enemies."

You're going to run into antagonists on this board, because the tone of the internet, particularly the NYC-based arts and culture portion of the internet, is witty, bitchy, clever and catty. But don't be fooled into thinking that the bigwigs here, even the ones who can occasionally seem cruel or bullying, mean you any harm or can DO you any harm.

Back before I worked for the site, in my early days, I butted heads sometimes with mainstays like Jordan Catalano, newintown and After Eight. Do we still disagree? On occasion- I know I've argued the merits of Sondheim and music written post-1963 with After Eight many times, and I tend to find him a little bit ridiculous most of the time. But do I hate these people? Or even dislike them? No way! I enjoy them! Posting here is for information AND for entertainment value. Learn to enjoy the characters you interact with, even when you disagree with them.

No one on this board can make you change your mind against your will. Your opinions are not wrong, even if they are uneducated or naive. Allow yourself to see things- other shows, other music, other perspectives- and you will change YOURSELF.

Welcome - I hope you enjoy the board and continue to share your thoughts and opinions. My advice would be to always remember that even when people disagree with you it does not mean you are wrong.

I'd like to thank most of you for the warm welcome and advice. I apologize if I did not reply fast enough for some of you, but I am a teenager. Teenagers go to dance class and do hours of homework on weekday afternoons.

After Eight - I have seen The Glass Menagerie, Waiting For Godot, The Bridges of Madison County, and Matilda (for the fourth time) in 2014. Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are incredible actors. Kelli O'Hara was mesmerizing. The Glass Menagerie was beautiful.... it was the only broadway show I've ever been to where the audience was completely silent. I don't know if this interests anyone, but the performance of Godot I attended was filmed for the New York Public Library archives.

Yes, that was a beautiful production of The Glass Menagerie, a beautiful play. I hope it will be remembered come awards time.

It's good to see young people who value and appreciate the theatre.
