Hello BWW members!
I am in desperate need of your help.
For my Senior Seminar, students are required to gather research on a "modern communications issue." Me being the theatre-geek that I am, decided to study how the Internet has impacted the theatrical industry, specifically Broadway.
My hypothesis is basically "because the Internet has helped bring theatre to audiences outside of typical "theatre hubs" there has been a positive impact on ticket sales." My research focuses on websites, like BWW, particularly the communal feautre, and how they allow people to connect with others who share the same interests on the other side of the country, which (in theory) would increase ticket sales.
Now, I just need you fine people to take my survey so I can get some quantitative research to figure out whether my hypothesis is legit or not.
The survey had to be split up, because survey-monkey would not let me make a survey longer than 10 questions without paying for it, (mine is 14). Most of the questions are fairly straightforward, "yes or no/ check all that apply" with a little bit of basic demographic information asked at the end.
I need at least 50 people to take the survey so please tell your friends! I'm going to be bumping the thread for the rest of the week, so please bear with me.
Thanks to everyone who helps me out, I really appreciate it!!
Let me know if you have any questions or if something's not working (which should not be the case, but I'm not going to get cocky)

Done! Hope it turns out well!
Done and good luck.
I'm going to play devil's advocate and just mention that you need to get people that you DON'T know to be online regulars to answer as well.....or your info will be terribly one sided!
done!
Thanks guys, I can't believe I'm almost to 50 people already!!
Dramamama: Thanks for the tip; I've got my sample of non-message board users lined up to take the survey tomorrow :)
Done!
And if you need any ideas from the past - The Jekkies & The League [of the Scarlet Pimpernel] were one of the first shows to feature an online-following / fanclub that was official, which of course would help something like Scarlet Pimpernel. I remember reading something about fans getting to email Douglas Sills and he'd respond and what not...maybe check out ThePimpernel.com .. they might have something? They also still exist - the Jekyll one for sure does,..they send bi-monthly (ish) emails for upcoming productions...whether they be in Philadelphia, Korea or anywhere else.

Make sure you indicate that this sample is neither random nor unbiased- it is a voluntary response survey with no attempt at randomization. You should recognize this but proceed anyway, and you should be fine. If you don't recognize it, you're going to run into credibility problems.
Did both in less than 2 minutes. Wish they were longer, actually... and this is coming from someone who HATES answering surveys!
Done! Glad to be of help. Let us know what you discover.

Stopsbyitself,
When I tried to access the survey, I received the following message:
"This survey is currently closed. Please contact the author of this survey for further assistance."
I'll take it when it's back up.

Ah, thanks for letting me know!
I didn't realize survey monkey would close the survey after a certain amount of responses... I'll see If I can fix it.

I took it earlier, and totally forgot to say so. Sorry.
Okay it should be all set, I had to rewrite the surveys, meaning I'm going to have to do math to combine some results, which is always a joy, but that's not any of your problems...
I replaced the links in the initial post, so have at it folks!
Just finished both- I'd love to know the responses as well. Good luck!
Done!
But why was the southeast/south not an option for where you live?
Ah! sorry about that, I kind of rushed through the remake of the quizzes.
It's all fixed now though.
