#0Help with song choice, please?
Posted: 12/7/04 at 10:14pmHey, I'm doing a theater competition in January. My friend and i are looking for an upbeat (preferably funny), female duet to use. Any suggestions? We are both altos (she has a better range than i do, though). I would really appreciate any help i can get.

The More You Ruv Someone - Avenue Q
Take Me Or Leave Me - Rent (if appropriate)
Marry the Man Today - Guys and Dolls (might be too high, come to think of it... Actually, I cant remember if Sarah goes very high... lol, idk)
If Mama Was Married - Gypsy

Posted: 12/7/04 at 11:18pmOne that could be done if you are both good dancers/movers that isnt funny but if well done can knock the socks off of people is "Baby Dream Your Dream" from Sweet Charity. Check it out, its a great duet and shouldnt be overlooked.

I guess "In his eyes" is too high...
how about "Anything you can do" you could do that as a girl-girl song and it's great for acting,if you use the Bernadette Peters version :) My friend did this at a competition with her best friend and they got the first prize.
"I know him so well"might be a little overdone
"Take me or leave me" is the greatest

Posted: 12/8/04 at 9:16am"Bosom Buddies" from Mame was what came to my mind first. A fun song that's not done too much and has a great opportunity to act as well. Listen to it... and don't get scared off by the scary woman's voice... not Angela Lansbury... the other one. Cause it's kinda scary. :) good luck!

Stepsisters Lament

Posted: 12/8/04 at 1:45pmI'd go with either Solid Silver Platform Shoes or Two's Company from The Magic Show. Another favorite of mine is We Share Everything from Side Show.
