Is out...And I bought it off of iTunes...
And I'm actually loving it. I'm shocked. I "liked" the first one(But there were a few songs on there that just aggrevated me)...But so far, I'm really liking the 2nd one.
Here's what I thought of each individual song...
1. What Time Is It-4/10. I didn't like the all together songs from the first one, and I don't like them in this go-round either...
2. Fabulous-8/10. It's catchy...And Ashley Tisdale makes such a good bitchy diva(Makes me wonder what she's like in real life). Lucas Grabeel is good too(But he usually is, sooo).
3. Work This Out-6.5/10. Another all together song...Not as bad as the others though.
4. You Are The Music In me-7/10. YES. They let Zac sing his own songs this time. Unfortunately I still don't like Vanessa Hudgens voice too much. But Zac makes up for that.
5. I Don't Dance-8/10. A duet between Ryan and Chad. Um......I doubt Disney is going to take this movie in the direction this song brings to mind...But I can still dream damn it.
6. You Are The Music In Me(Sharpay's Version)-8/10. I like Ashley Tisdale and Zac Efron together better than Zac and Vanessa. Plus this versions catchier.
7. Gotta Go My Own Way-8.5/10. WOW...I actually like Vanessa's voice in this song. And Zac's in there too...Apparently this is the sequel's version of "When There Was Me And You."
8. Bet On It-10/10. It's Zac Efron. And it brings to mind N*SYNC. And it's slightly techno-ish in some parts. I love it. This is gonna be in my top 25 most played songs by the end of tomorrow...
9. Everyday-7/10. Huh...Another all together kind of song, and I like it. It reminds me of 'Without Love'...Maybe that's why I like it.
10. All For One-6/10. Reminds me of 'What Time Is It.' Not something I want to be reminded of.
11. HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A-7.5/10. Ummm...Wow. I need weed...And fast. I have NOOOO IDEA what this song is about. BUT, it's cracking me up...Lucas Grabeels hilarious in this song...It sounds like they're both high...Seriously...It even sounds like someone was toking up with a bong in the background...Wow. I really don't know what to say about this song except WOW.
SO, with the exception of the all-together songs, I like this one. It takes the good songs from the first one and really improves on them. If you liked the original, I'd definitely recommend it.
I've had 'Bet On It' on repeat for the last 15 minutes......

Yep, I bought it too. I'm so glad they let Zac sing on this album. I like his voice WAY better than the guy in the first album. hahaha, and that last song (I'm not even going to TRY and type it out) is SO weird. It's definitely fun though. I think I like it more than the first one. I'm proud to say that I can't wait to watch the premire on the 17th! The ratings for this movie are going to be RIDICULOUS.

I love that song.
I have yet to buy the CD.
But, will. I can asure you.
Glad Zac is doing his own singing.
Am I the only one who thinks Vanessa voice is a mix, because sometimes she sounds like herself then it sounds like it's someone else.
I LOVE Lucas Grabeel. :blushes:

I'm about to get it from iTunes. You are able to watch the movie, commercial free, thru Verizon Fios. They have it "on-demand" for free.
I watched it twice two nights ago. It's fun.

How come everyone can get it through ITUNES and I have no luck. My ITUNES still says "Pre-Order" and I know it was supposed to come out today.
I will try again!

OK, is it possible that the soundtrack could be SOLD OUT...LOL..I know that sounds weird for ITUNES...but I just tried to press my "Pre-ORder" option and it gave me this response: "Sorry, but the item you have chosen is not longer available and may be in a few days or at a different price"
This is weird.

I'm kinda in love with Lucus too.
I heard most of the songs, but am waiting till after my birthday on monday to buy it. Maybe ;D
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofu#9re: High School Musical 2: Soundtrack.

I didnt buy it - but I have it.
I know I know, bad.
But HUMU is my favorite song- and I don't even think it's in the movie.
I love Bet On It- but now I cant get the visual image of Zac prancing around the golf course out of my head- not that its a bad thing.
But i just dont want to see Kenny direct Zac in one more thing - poor Footloose.

Three things I've noticed...
1. Mateo, that avatar will be making a cameo in my next daydream.
2. Zac Efron's face looks really odd on the cover of the soundtrack...I don't know what it is. But he doesn't look like himself. Like he got into a car accident with a truckload of botox or something. IDK...
3. (This is the long one) The more I listen to 'I Don't Dance', the more I realize it could have a VERY interesting double meaning...
Hear me out...I might just be reading way too much into a very simple song.
BUUUTTTTT...
It's supposed to be about Ryan convincing Chad that he knows how to dance, while Chad would rather just play baseball. Uh-huh...That's the simple and morel likely explanation.
But, Here's what I got out of it as far as a possible double meaning: Chad is on the baseball team(masculine, straight). While Ryan, is trying to get him to start dancing(Feminine, gay). Chad is trying to convince himself he doesn't know how to dance and that he can't(He's trying to suppress his homosexual urges). While Ryan is trying to get him to try dancing(Just come out of the closet and put it in him already). By the end of it, Ryan winds up convincing Chad that he does indeed know how to dance, and is actually good at it(Chad finally accepts he's gay/bi).
Again, maybe my homosexual brain is just reading WAYYY too much into it.
But, the chorus has Ryan singing: "Slide home, you score, swingin' on the dance floor."
And then there's this little moment towards the end...
Ryan:
Lean back
Tuck it in
Take a chance
Swing it out
Spin around
Do the dance
Chad:
I wanna play ball
Not dancehall
I'm makin' a triple
Not a curtain call
Ryan:
I can prove it to you
You know it's true
Cause I can swing it
I can bring it
To the diamond too
Chad:
You're talkin' a lot
Show me what you got
And the song ends with Ryan saying "I wish I knew how to quit you."
(I made that last part up.)
Anybody else see that in there? Or am I just out of it completely and starting a slow descent into madness?

Friar, it took me forever to figure out what "all-together songs" meant. I think the word you're looking for is "ensemble."
I've never actually seen HSM...guess I'll have to go out and rent it and then watch the sequel.
Biggest CHENO Fan---is that avatar for real? Who knew Zac had such a killer bod??

#18re: High School Musical 2: Soundtrack.
Posted: 8/14/07 at 9:05pmFriars- first of all, I love your myspace URL. That's the funniest one I've seen. Also, my daughter gets 17 Magazine. Last year, someone wrote a letter to the editor and said she used to model with Ashley Tidsdale. The person who wrote the letter said she was very mean and seemed to be pushed by her mother. The editor called it sour grapes but it makes you wonder.

Posted: 8/14/07 at 9:27pmI just saw a rerun of that show Still Standing. It was 4 years ago and Ashley was playing the bossy girlfriend of the son. She had very brunette hair. Yes, that's right, apparently, she's not a natural blonde! She was playing a high school student back then too.

yeah she is a natural brunette with curly hair. She started dyeing it toward High School.
How do I know. I went to HS with her.
However, I didnt really know her. She was a few years behind me. But a lot of my friends were in her grade.

its all so computerized. is thats a word?
I am not a fan of it , I loved the first movie , but the second soundtrack, it doesn't up to par.

Posted: 8/14/07 at 10:04pmwicked- what an adorable dog! I know what you mean about computerized. Seems like all the Disney "stars" lip sync to their own over -produced sound tracks. Sometimes as a joke, my daughter and I put Radio Disney on in the car. Everyone sounds so nasaly.
