Need tips on how to get discounted broadway tickets for a group of high school students (about 25). The trip is in January. Any help appreciated.

Not all shows offer group discounts, and, of course, the biggest discounts are usually the worst seats in the house.

I organize trips for my college! Just go on broadway.com and click the Groups (10+) button. Most shows are on here including some non broadway (I booked blue man group this way). Other shows are on Broadwayinbound. Just fill out the info form and they'll send you an invoice unless that day isn't available.

I plan student trips for a living, and my go to is Givenik. Love their service and they donate 5% of your ticket purchase to charity of your choosing. If I remember correctly, most schools are non-profits, so you might be able to get the donation back to the school.
