Using that logic I guess as a man who wants to marry a man I can't admire Obama either, because he didn't support gay marriage until after he was was elected a second time.
Just for the record, it was before the election, in May of 2012. Still disgustingly late, of course.

Ideological purity is an illusion in politics, like authenticity. Politicians serve their constituents, and change positions either when they change their mind, or when their constituencies change. (For those Sanders supporters, his recent flip-flop on guns is a great example, for a candidate whose supporters tout his purity.)
That said, let's shut this down. It's off-topic and full of misinformation.
"I understand fully that nominating Sanders guarantees the Republicans the White House next year -- preventing that is far more important to me than how late Hilary was to the marriage equality party."
Obviously it's not just about that particular issue. Bernie presents a vision for the USA that involves real change and standing up to the establishment. Hillary is incredibly conservative (in comparison to Bernie) and is part of that establishment.
I acknowledge the complexities of not only getting into office but then getting these bills past. However, it's hard to ignore the breath of fresh air of someone who truly wants to be a voice of the people and not the ''billionaires''.
I live in a country with a high minimum wage, with public healthcare, with accessible higher education, with paid maternity leave, and it's absolutely wonderful (of course, not always perfect). I so wish this for the USA.
I acknowledge there is something odd about a non-US citizen being so passionate about this issue, but I think this perspective helps rather than hinders my position.
Anybody else see the new ad advertising it as "The show Trump doesn't want you to see!"?

Boo politics. This is Broadway. George was cool about this show originally, but now, I hear about it way too much, and it is usually tied to politics, or how it's the audience's fault that it's closing early. Clear the wax out of your ears Allegiance. Your show is terrible. Lea Salonga and Telly Leung are very talented performers, and the cast overall has a large amount of talent and passion, but the material just isn't there. No great songs, cheesy book. Who cares what Hillary had to say about Allegiance? After this mess, please stay away from Broadway George.
