History Boys Movie Soundtrack

To anyone who has the soundtrack to the film version of "The History Boys", I'm wondering...how is the CD booklet? I'm trying to decide if I should order the entire soundtrack (which is mostly 80s songs I can find elsewhere) from Amazon.com or if I should wait for a possible iTunes release, because the only songs I really want are the four tracks specially recorded for the movie ("L'Accordeoniste", "Bewitched", "Bye Bye Blackbird"--all by Samuel Barnett and the cast--and "Bewitched" by Rufus Wainwright).

If there is a decent booklet to go with the actual physical album, I would consider ordering the whole CD. I just don't want to pay $15 for something without much presentation simply to have those four songs (and yes, I've looked everywhere else for them). Thanks very much for any help.

The booklet isn't anything special. It's just a standard fold-out listing the track informations. No real pictures, no lyrics, nothing special.

The booklet is nothing special, but if you're going to purchase a CD for the booklet, then you're buying it for the wrong reasons.

I bought the soundtrack several months ago, and with the exception of a few tracks, it's absolutely wonderful. I particularly like the two versions of "Bewitched."

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't thinking about buying the CD merely for the booklet (I do love and want all the music), but I had read at one point about the possibility of an iTunes release and wondered if I should wait to see what happened there (so I could possibly get the four tracks I wanted from iTunes and compile the rest of the soundtrack myself). If there was something special about having the actual CD rather than only the music, however, then I was thinking I would just order it right away.

In any case, the more I think and read about it, the less likely the iTunes release seems. And since the soundtrack hasn't...popped up anywhere else, I'll probably just order the CD. Thanks again for the help.

I regret buying the entire physical soundtrack. Just get the tracks with vocals from iTunes. The background tracks take up the majority of it and are boring after the first listen.

It's in limited theatres still, it's been out for a while.

Is there ever going to be a wide release?

A quick Google search told me two different things--that it has been in wide release since December 15th, and that it's been in wide release since December 22nd. Whatever the case, I believe this may just be the wide release since the movie opened on November 22nd and it just recently came to a theater near me. A shame, because that means it's showing practically nowhere, even in the New York metro area. I really thought it was a great film.

CapnHook, unfortunately it's not available on iTunes (yet, though I'm thinking it might never be). That was part of the reason for my question. I would have gladly done what you suggested except it would mean waiting for something that might never come. Actually, even more frustrating...I did just find the partial album on the UK iTunes store, but my account isn't valid there. Oh well, it didn't have Rufus Wainwright's beautiful "Bewitched" anyway.
