Beginning the Public Theater's new season will be the much whispered about production of OTHELLO, featuring John Ortiz in the title role and Philip Seymour Hoffman as Iago. Peter Sellars directs the production at the Skirball Center.
For the rest of the season, featuring works by Suzan Lori Parks, Tarell Alvin McCraney and a Public debut by Willem Dafoe in a play by Richard Foreman, click here:

Even though I think I saw what might have been an almost perfect Othello at the Duke last month, I'm still very interested in seeing this.
The entire season looks interesting enough that I might actually subscribe this year.
D'oh! I was hoping for Jackie Hoffman.
Big PSH fan. I am definitely going to check this out.
This is their mainstage season. Hoffman would mos likely be at Joe's Pub. Besides, she's in Adams Family.

Ugh. PSH as Iago. Couldn't care less. Saved myself the cost of a ticket and the waste of about three hours.
D'oh! I was hoping for Jackie Hoffman.
Ha! That was my first thought as well...I saw the title and immediately jumped to Jackie Hoffman as Desdemona. I don't think I'd be able to blame Othello for holding the pillow over her face.
Wish they would do more off beat musicals
