Hello, when does the Hollywood Bowl tend to announce their annual summer concert?

Generally it's around the time they announce their full season, which I think is typically end of April, beginning of May.

4th of July performance will be announced in mid to late November.  Sometimes another special show will be announced at that time as well, such as last year Hugh Jackman.  Then the full schedule is announced around the 2nd week of February.

School of Rock is the summer musical. Hmm… the only way I might be convinced to see it is if Jack Black plays Dewey. We'll see…

Who else is a "big name" that can play the role?

I'm not sure Criss is the right "type" for Dewey at all. He's supposed to look a little scruffy, a little unkempt, a little washed-up...which makes his ultimate success with the kids' rock band so satisfying. I'd kill to see Jack Black reprise the part, although he may not have the physical energy to do it live.

Not sure if they can sing -- maybe Zack Galifanakis or Seth Rogen?    He would never do it -- but Adam Sandler? Josh Gad or Bill Hader?

I can totally see Jack Black doing it.  He lives in LA, this would be something he's probably never done, just 3 performances.

Maybe even get some of the kids from the film to be the parents.
