surprised DOLLY is only running for three weeks there. Was expecting a 4-5 week run in LA.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

What a purely awful season. Apart from Dolly and maybe a Bronx Tale
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

Pretty great season overall. Not too excited about Charlie but that's it. There's a lot of gaps of time in between shows so we will probably get bonus shows of Beautiful, Wicked, or Book of Mormon maybe.

I will probably take the train up from San Diego to see "A Bronx Tale". Not so much because I am especially interested in that production, but because I have yet to visit the beautiful and historic Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

If you have never visited the Pantages, any of the shows on the list would be a wonderful day out. Theatre is beautiful and should be seen. If you're making a weekend out of it, may I also strongly encourage you add the El Captian to the list, which is equally beautifully restored.
You can train to Union Station and then Red Line directly across the street from the Pantages theatre.

Wicked should be there for the month of December, since it is in San Diego at the end of November and theres a huge time slot between A Bronx Tale and Dolly. Surprised at no Anastasia, could it be going to Ahmanson as one of their unannounced shows?

Thanks for the info. I will see many of those shows here in SD, but we aren't getting "Bronx". The only LA theater I've been in was the Ahmanson some years back for "Ragtime".

Not TOO impressed by this season. I'm leaning more towards subscribing for Ahmanson's 18/19 season. Perhaps if Pantages offer mini-packages again down the line I'll go for that.

Saw Aladdin at the Pantages last night. A friend won the lottery, and she let me come with her. The sets and costumes were dazzling, but... I was slightly underwhelmed. I know the Aladdin original the role on Broadway, but he may be getting a bit long in the tooth. And for a show that strives to be very PC when it comes to Middle Eastern culture, there sure were a lot of gay stereotypes going on with the Genie. Complete pink face.

This homosexual found nothing offensive or stereotypical about the Genie when I saw it on Broadway with James Monroe Iglehart. Perhaps the man on tour plays it differently? Iglehart was hilarious, full of energy, and ran away with the entire show.
