Why is no one taking about this show? I was only made aware of it yesterday when BWW posted pictures from the production in San Francisco and I got the concept album on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by what I heard. At first I thought the creators were obviously taking their cue from American Idiot and Spring Awakening, and maybe they are, but when one of the characters stopped mid song to provided the definition of "snowballing" I figured it might deserve a bit more credit than that. At least from me. Might as well give others here a heads up.

I saw the show last week. It was pretty bad. Acting and singing were horrible, but it seems as if that was a directorial choice. The book was weak and the songs were beyond horrible. I really wanted to like it as I love nofx and musical theatre, but this was not good at all.

The bad acting and singing was a directorial choice? lol
I can't speak for the actual show but I'm enjoying the concept recording. Maybe it's better that they didn't record with this cast? :-/
Concept album is pretty cool, if only the cast sounded half as good.
Sorry to hear that. I've also been enjoying the concept album.
I've always liked NOFX though.

I saw it Saturday, and this reviewer is spot on. The core of the show is solid, the subject matter breaks new ground. The acting and singing were great, the music was outstanding, but this musical in development still needs some tweaking. http://www.sfgate.com/performance/article/Home-Street-Home-review-Musical-could-be-a-6108964.php#photo-7593031
