This has my interest piqued as I've long been an advocate for more suspense and horror elements making the translation to the stage even if shows like Misery were misfires.

I'd say Grey House was slightly more suspense than horror, but had several elements of both.
What about 2:22? Was that horror? I only know vaguely it had ghost elements.

Whatever happened to Ivo Van Hove’s play adaptation of The Shining? Ben Stiller was reported to be attached as Jack Torrence for a 2023 West End bow, which never materialized. There was also a reading of the show at BAM with Adam Sandler. There was a report from November 2024 where Colin Callendar said the show was, “still set for the West End, opening in 2025.” Well, we’re halfway through 2025 and there’s no updates. I hope this comes to fruition sooner than later.

I saw 2:22 at the Ahmanson in LA. The cast was good, but the play itself was pretty bad and not scary in the least. There was one jump scare that was effective initially but then the same effect was used again multiple times.
I’m interested in seeing Paranormal Activity when it comes to LA, but I wonder if it’ll get swallowed up in a giant space like the Ahmanson. I would think for a horror play, you would a more intimate space.

I’ve heard really good things about Paranormal Activity. Felix Barrett’s involvement as director is the most exciting element for me, but I’m always happy to see more horror in theatre, even if the results are mixed.

I'm interested in seeing 'The Weir' revival down at the Irish Rep. The premise sounds spooky.
