All set for The Wedding Singer and Three Penny Opera, Drowsy is in the works. All right guys someone saw Hot Feet and loved it. What is your take on it. I have heard nothing else.
I saw it about a week ago, and didn't fall in love with it, but didn't flat out hate it either. It was a much better night than say, Lestat. The dancing was wonderful, and the cast was full of talent. I could feel their energy from my seat. If you happen to enjoy dance-musicals, lacking in a real plot, than this is a great show for you. It's not amazing, but what it does, it does well. It's worth a look if you have the means and the time.
A suggestion from a friend who went in on the Lestat tixs with me. She heard Hot Feet was good. It probably is enjoyable.
I usually like most every show I see. I always find a redeeming quality. I rarely really criticize something.
If you want see it, you better get there fast. At 40%, it won't be open for much longer.

Everything about the show is terrible. Absolutely everything. Well, it's high energy!
I had a fun, despite the fact that it's the worst piece of theatre I've ever witnessed.

It is ghetto. It's just plain horrendous. Do not see it.
It's really not Broadway. Its a dance-oriented show. It was an absolutely mistake to try and weave a story line into this. It's not a disaster, but its not really enjoyable either. The big dance numbers are entertaining for a bit, but then get extremely repetitive and therefore dull. The choreography, an area where I feel with such great dancers they could have gotten very creative with, is sorely lacking. Even as someone with minimal dance background I could tell the choreography was too simple, and just lots of easy movements done quickly.
There are surely, other choices out there. Color Purple? Awake and Sing? Tarzan? Faith Healer? Try for others would be my suggestion...
Okay. I saw Color Purple. It was my friend's suggestion. Not mine.
Unless you get free tickets or get the $25 front row seats, don't go. Go see some other (better) shows like.. Tarzan.. J. Boys.. Wedding Singer.. The Color Purple..
Eww, cannot beleive you just lumped in Tarzan with those other ones.
ok bj i'm glad you said that cause i didn't wanna be the one who did. haha
Anytime, folkyboy, anytime. All in an honest day's work!

Look! Your friend liked Hot Feet, so give it a try. Have your own opinions, and honor your view points. WHY OH WHY let these negative comments influence you. It's a FANTASTIC show. NO...NOT...Shakespere..It's not the best story line...BUT...It's a fun and joyous musical. There is LOTS to appreciate.
I'm sure if we all try hard enough, we can find negative aspects in EVERYTHING! But....WHY! That's no fun! It just makes you bitter! Just ask the majority of the queens on this site...right, MunkusSAP178? or is it 666?
i agree, Candida. everyone has their own type of theatre that appeals to them. it's just lot more fun to play the skeptic.

True that, Folkboy! I hope YOU don't hink being the skeptic is more fun. I love you pic. by the way! :)
thanks!
and actually: in a city like NY, with a WHOLE lot of options available for me to see... i wouldn't be as apt to see something that's being continuously slammed in the reviews that come out....
that doesn't mean the world can't find it fascinating and wonderful. it just means i have to have a healthy sense of skepticism in order to spare my wallet the after-grief

Of what, the apocolypse?
I agree - and HOT FEET and TARZAN are just two of them, along with, you know, all that global warming stuff.
actually it's a reference to a thread in the Off-Topic board. but yes, i think it could relevant to these musicals as well :)
