YES.
Unequivocably.
Absolutely! It's definitely one of the better scores of the era and it's a shame that it's not better known.
I yelped when I saw this subject line. YES, YES, definitely YES.

One more "yes" vote. An absolute must-have--gorgeous Harold Arlen score with Truman Capote lyrics. Don't pass it by.
Has a blissful score (and the Columbia Masterworks edition has Truman Capote reading a very small part of the original story - worth it just to compare against Phillip S-H's performance) and memorable performances all round
If you then wonder why it lasted only 165 performances on Broadway, it's worth checking its history in 'Not Since Carrie' - sounds like fireworks all round.
Yes
A definite yes.
I wish they had recorded the wonderful Encores production from a few years back starring Tonya Pinkins.
Yes! (and since it is affordably priced you should be able to pick up a copy for less than $10!)
The show may not work on stage but the cast album is one of those divine rcordings that show fans cherish.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Mediocre book, awesome score!!!
You can check out Barbra Streisand singing the glorious "I Never Has Seen Snow" on her 1973 TV Special "Barbra Streisand. . . and Other Musical Instruments"

Yes, yes, yes. And be aware that it is Harold Arlen punched in for one note/word on I NEVER HAS SEEN SNOW on the very last "'like' my love is to me" lyric.

got some great songs in it and some rather irritating lyrics by truman capote as well. But I like listening to the recording. "Don't like Goodbyes" seems to me the strongest ballad from it and somehere I found a strong cabaret version of it lately.
