How About A GREASE Reunion Show?

Posted: 8/24/10 at 9:08pmI would like to see a musical starring the most prestigious Grease alumni- Bostwick, Barbeau, Travolta and Newton-John. Battle of the Danny Zukos- although let's face it. In terms of musical theater iconic roles, Barry Bostwick is NOT going to be remembered as Zuko. No, dammit, he has his other role of choice.

What also might be fun is a Grease alumni show with actors who played Grease in all the companies the first time around, 1972-80. There were all sorts of first class tours and open-end runs out there. Sort of like the record-setting performance of A Chorus Line. I'd rather see Ilene Graff or Kathi Moss any day.
Keep the movie people away although Travolta did do one of the tours but not as Danny.

John Travolta played Doody, IRC.
Can we make this into a video game too?

Actually Barry Bostwick and Carole Demas could easily come back together. they both still sing and work in the business. They reprised summer nights for Best of Broadway a bunch of years ago and Carole Demas is doing it in her act at the Laurie Beechman with the most current Broadway Danny - Josh Franklin. I think someone could put together those 2 and many others from the original cast and have on e heck of a show. Adrienne is still singing and performing wonderfully too and they are all friends.
here's a review of that show

Can we bring Max Crumm into this? Maybe as Teen Angel? I understand he's parking cars in LA and awaiting his "big break".
He needs the work.

Boy... you have NO sense of common sense math, do you? GREASE took place in 1959 -- Betty White is 88 years old so she would have been 37 in 1959; Abe Vigoda is a year older at 89, so he would have been 38 in 1959!
Barry Bostwick and Carole Demas are still technically the right age to play the characters they originated in 1971 - Danny Zuko and Sandy Dumbrowski, respectively.
In order for those characters to be age apropo in 2010, they would have to have been born around 1941-42 to be 17 or 18 in 1959 (the graduating class of GREASE).
Bostwick was born in 1945 (he's 65 today; he was 27 when he originated Danny Zuko) and Carole Demas was born in 1940 (she's 70 today; she was 32 when she originated Sandy Dumbrowski). Technically, they are the almost the true ages their characters would be today: 68-69-70.
