I think this was tried on the old board before it imploded. How about trying to get as many board members to meet somewhere at a specified time in NYC for a get together? People who just know others by screen names can meet them in the flesh & just talk theater or anything else. We could all attend a show with dinner before etc. It would take a lot of planning but there has to be interest in the idea to begin with. OK let's hear from everyone out there.

To bad I'm so far away or I'd give it a go....

I still want to see snow so if I make any trips up your way it will be when there is a good chance there will be a least a chance of a small dusting and I can go ice skating.

I would do it, but I'm too young. Mommy doesn't trust rude freaks from the internet.

Sure. I'm game.

Billy, no doubt, doesn't want to get beaten up.

You're right, Broadway Bulldog. Judging by the things said to me on this thread, Finding Namo, you, Al Dente, etoile and a few others would show up with a gun, prepared to do a lot more than beat me up.

Mommy's pretty smart. I would advise enstalling a "no one under 16" rule. No reason to invite trouble.

Billy, first of all, I'm against violence. Much less the use of guns.

Secondly, you might learn something. Being a teenager doesn't make you mr. right.

You know of course, I jest.

as ever, BB

I would 2nd the idea of no one under age for your sakes--you wouldn't want anyone to get their bling blings in a wad.

Not that you would Billy--You seem a very sensible young man.

They were selling bling blings on Canal street (NYC) today. I finally found what in the blue pacific a bling bling is.

I didn't know what one was until DollyPop told me. That's why this board is such an education--and not just about theater.

Maybe we could make it a 21 over affair and go to a cabaret or something.

Good idea, Jon.

Perhaps someone could arrange a show with a visit backstage, or something equally special, followed by dinner?

Who knows?

The under 21's could be invited for the first part of the evening. Until curfew, at least. The over 60's can leave with the younger set.

BillyLibeler, your comments are not only offensive, but immature and instigative. All from someone professing to want a "nice" board. And just when I thought we were all having such nice and fuzzy warms feelings.

And on a side and more important note, rather than fearing those with whom you disagree on this board I would perhaps be a bit more wary of those offering to be your personal "educational" source.

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

Sounds like fun, but then you would all know how old I really am.
Besides, I am broke and can not afford a trip to NYC right now. Have a great time, though and let us live vicariously through your posts!

PEACE.

It's true, etoile. Part of it is my bad mood, part of it is true. I would never show up to something like that, not because I'm afriad, but because I'm a 14 year old who wouldn't be very comfortable around adults that think I'm immature and ignorant about theater.

I think over 18 would suffice, don't you? It really sucks being in the 18-20 age range. For a good two years of your life you're not quite considered an adult, yet you are no longer a child. What are you really? Just in the state of being until the time passes by... no one really cares about you... you're just there and can legally purchase cigarettes and porn. Woo?

Sorry. Don't mind my lament. It'll pass... once I hit 21.

I suppose if you MUST make it over 21, when we "kiddies" are ordered to leave, we can all meet up at my apartment and put that privilege to rent porn to good use! re: re: re: re: How About A Get Together ? Corrupting the under 18 crowd sounds like some fun, laughs, good times!

There's no corrupting this 15 year old. I've seen and done it all. I would love the idea of a get together. Unfortunatly, I live in NC, so the odds of me getting to the city are slim to none.

Yours sounds like the best idea, BB--that way no one is left out. I hope you all have a wonderful time. You'll have to let us out of towners know all about it so we won't be left out either.

The funny thing about this is that I had just brought up the Chitty trip on my other board again. I guess this is a good time to ask--if/when we all make the trip up, there are a few of us who have said something about the opera--where is that from the theater district? Maybe we could make going to see one part of the tour.

This sounds just GREAT!

(Voiceanth rubs hands with glee)

As I have always said, seeing some of the more, how shall I say, "interesting" posters in an up close and personal manner will explain SO much!!

Of course, that is, if they show!

Which they wont!

Name the date guys and gals! I am always ready to hoist a few!
